China's dogs & cats are boiled, stabbed, drowned, bludgeoned, strangled, poisoned, hanged, and electrocuted...experiencing unbearable pain as their legs are routinely broken while trussed up and hung in local markets for human consumption, or skinned alive and cast off like garbage, for the despicable fur trade.
Dogs [both owned and stray] are relentlessly hunted down by 'police authorized' roving mobs and savagely beaten to death by the hundreds of thousands, in the name of 'rabies' control
I think I finally lost my mind....now that I have become aware of certain situations including the fur trade in China....I looked at my teddy bear collection...and yes I have one...anyway, I noticed Boyds Bears are made in China. I further noticed the tag stated what the inside contained but no mention of the outside fur. I wrote to them, telling them my niece sneezes (animal allergies) when she comes in contact with them, I became aware of China using cat and dog fur to make their products. If they don't get back to me...I got to find a place that can analyze these hairs, I think I should anyway. It is just killing me now that I know this and see tags that don't mention a thing about the outside fur and what it is made of.......HAVE I LOST ALL CONTROL ??????
No, not at all, in fact before I shipped back my fux fur I should had it analized by a foresnic, or DNA company...they can do it for it, it'll cost but it's worth it...I think they have kits that you can do it at home....Let us know what you come up with...
I will...in the meantime, I emailed Ellen, Oprah, MSNBC, CNN, The New York Times, The Today Show and the discovery channel with my letter. Tomorrow I mail out to the Chinese Embassy, president and Korean president and minister of forestry and agriculture. Along with sending it to celebrities that are for animal rights, Paul McCartney, Sarah McLaughlin, Joaquin Phoenix, Daryl Hannah and Pam Anderson. We will see if anything comes of it. I was shocked that I actually recieved a letter from a Senator I wrote about the cruelty to circus animals, he agreed with all I said and told me that they have a bill s.1498 being referred to the Senate Committee called the Captive Primate Act of 2007. I guess it does pay to be diligent for these causes. I have to remember to post that on the group. I will first thing tommorrow. Till then XXOO

Just to add a few more names of fame that are animal advocates (with links): Bob Barker comes to mind first, Simon Cowell (though he's not nice to bad singers), Tony Larussa (Baseball Cardinals Manager), Katie - Model 11 on Deal or No Deal.
Regarding the Olympics in China, I'm going to check into the IOC and see if there is any other resistance.
I KNOW i HAD POSTED THIS BEFORE BUT IF YOU GO TO THIS LINK ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FILL OUT A FORM THAT YOU SUPPORT THIS LEGISLATION AND THEY SEND THE LETTERS TO YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE....FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T I URGE YOU TO SUPPORT THIS BILL, IT TAKES A SECOND OF YOUR TIME
LIKE ME...DO YOU WONDER WHERE THE FUR ON YOUR TEDDY BEAR MADE IN CHINA COMES FROM, OR YOUR DOG'S OR CAT'S FAVORITE TOY, OR THE PLUSHY PILLOW YOU BOUGHT FROM WALMART IS MADE FROM? DOESN'T USUALLY TELL YOU...DOES IT? THIS BILL WILL DEMAND IT STATE IT ON ALL FUR PRODUCTS.
Okay so now since I'm freaked about anything that has hair on it from China...by the way the hair from the Vermont Teddy Bear Co feels different that that of Boyds Bears...anyway. I went online to see how I can have hairs analyized and up came this:
On Amazon.com there is a published book..."Knitting with dog hair"..by Kendall Crolius.
Maybe meaning when dogs shed...but nonetheless, it's pretty sickening.
Xi Chang Market. December 1997
Xichang is known as China's "space city" and is capital city of the Liangshan Yi Nationality Autonomous Prefecture in southwestern Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China.
These are pictures of a market area on an embankment above the river in the old part of town. At the front there are puppies and kittens for sale as pets and further back are about 100 dogs waiting to be selected by customers. When selected the vendor puts the dog in a sack and weighs it. After a price is agreed the purchaser kills his dog and butchers it (sometimes in that order, more often in the reverse order). Business was brisk with a dog being killed about ever 5 minutes. There seemed to be two techniques. The one man technique was to hit the dog twice on the head with a wooden plank which dazed it sufficiently to make it safe for him to plunge his knife into its jugular without getting bitten. He then held the dog up by the tail until it bled into unconsciousness - he would then proceed to butcher it with the dog coming in and out of consciousness. With the two man technique, one man held the dog up by her tail while the other pulled the neck back with a wire round the dog's neck. The first man was then able to reach down, again without fear of being bitten, to sever the jugular vein. Since the dog was in no way stunned, she struggled and howled and urinated until passing out. The watching dogs were also shaking and howling. The dog was flung onto her back and the butchering began - consciousness returned on lying flat but she was too weak then to struggle much. One of the men laid down his knife and put his mouth to the inside of the dog's hind leg - I couldn't see what he was doing.
What upsets me is not so much that people capable of such cruelty exist in
China (they exist in every country) but that there are so few Chinese people coming forward to stand on the side of the animals.
Steph, please don't forget South Korea, they are in there with China and just as bad if not worse...please include South Korea with China in your writings.
Shagu also said that in India, they kill dogs in a horrible way also and she could hear the dogs cry out.....so people, if you think that India is a sacred country for animals because they think cows are sacred and won't kill animals...you are wrong...they are in there with the rest of the world in slaughtering dogs and cats..China and South Korea are the worst..In fact, I'm thinking of putting a table outside of one of their "Kia" car lots and let everyone know to Boycott Korea...and pass out the pamhlets seeing the dogs slaughtered. We have a Ford and would never think of buying anything but American..don't throw you money to another country and make them prosper, we have been buying their products here in the states for so long now and they are still eating dog and cat..Korea and China's economics are so bad because they should be putting their money on birth control.
LOL...you are great !!!! You are right China has the biggest population in the world...less people...less killing (makes sense). I have wrote to the president of the republic of korea and Kim Dong-tae, ministry of agriculture and forestry, just changed the word China to Korea. You are right about India. See here's what I see, these countries blame poverty on the slaughtering on companion animals....eat tofu !!!! That is one thing that I can't stand to hear, poverty shouldn't make you uncompassionate or cruel, hungry yes...not barbaric. So grow some vegeatables and call it a day !!!!
