China's dogs & cats are boiled, stabbed, drowned, bludgeoned, strangled, poisoned, hanged, and electrocuted...experiencing unbearable pain as their legs are routinely broken while trussed up and hung in local markets for human consumption, or skinned alive and cast off like garbage, for the despicable fur trade.
Dogs [both owned and stray] are relentlessly hunted down by 'police authorized' roving mobs and savagely beaten to death by the hundreds of thousands, in the name of 'rabies' control
LOL I know that is what I say too....veggies and rice, hell, they can live on that....no excuse to kill animals...I put some excerpts on my site about what Jesus said about killing animals and sacrifices...well, some people might call it ancient but it applies to today but they don't know it...you see, God is a very loving God and he stood up for animals and he never demanded that the people kill animals for sacrifice and food. it's a thing I got into, doing some research on the Bible about this and I found a saying in "What the great minds say about eating pieces of animals carcass" from a Chinese philosopher 3-4 centuries before Christ! and I am going to write that down and it in their faces, I am sure half of them won't know who he is but maybe the older ones will...Laotse: "Be good to people, to plants and to animals! Chase neither man nor animal, nor cause them suffering" I don't think I will be able to get more saying from recent scolors because they don't have any that are compassionate in this day and age..You can use this too if you think it will help in your letters..I sure am.....
Thanks I have alot of quotes on my sight as well...I just love them, what I sometimes feel and can't express well these say what I feel...but famous people say it. I love that one by Laotse...wish everyone in China knew about it and followed it.
I know this is from 2006 but this is the reason we need to pass the bill that manufacturers have to let the public know what things are made of......and who is still using and wearing it
DOG DIDDY BREAKS VOW TO GO FAUX
FAILS TO SHED HIS LABEL'S FUR
By ELIZABETH WOLFF and CHRIS MICHAUD
December 24, 2006 -- It's a doggone shame, but a day after designing rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs said he'd pull his line of coats made with raccoon-dog fur, the offending garments still graced the racks and window at his Midtown store yesterday.
Combs promised the Humane Society on Friday that the winter jacket adorned with the fur of the canine species known as raccoon-dog was being pulled from his Sean John line, and vowed that, in the future, the garment would be made with faux fur only.
"I was completely unaware of the nature of this material, but as soon as we were alerted, the garments were pulled off the Macy's floor and Web site," Combs said in a statement through his publicist, Hampton Carney.
"I have instructed our outerwear licensee [G-III Apparel] to cease the production of any garments using this material immediately."
But the $280 snorkel coats were still on display in the windows and on the racks at his Fifth Avenue flagship.
And the coats were still erroneously labeled as made with raccoon fur - not that of the strange-looking dog.
Macy's did pull the coats from its stores and Web site. The retailer had compounded the controversy by erroneously tagging the coats as containing "faux" fur.
Even Combs' store employees were confused, first saying the fur was coyote, then rabbit.
The fur fight "shows the complex ways in which consumers can be duped," said Michael Markarian, executive director of the Humane Society of the United States.
"Shoppers need to be aware. People just don't know what they're getting when it comes to fur trim. And it's an industry-wide problem," he added, noting that many other manufacturers and designers have had similar problems with raccoon-dog fur being mislabeled, a violation of federal law.
"It seemed like they [Sean John] were taking quick action, but obviously it's a question of how quickly that can be done. We'll obviously be following up," Markarian told The Post.
Only after Post inquires - and following a reporter's purchase of a dog-fur coat yesterday afternoon - did a saleswoman finally pull the coats from a rack, citing a "problem" with them. The jackets, part of Combs' fall line for men and women, came in black, brown or cream, with the women's versions rendered in leather.
Hides from animals considered pets, including cats and dogs, are not banned in the United States, per se, but the Fur Products Labeling Act mandates the naming of the source animal on garments and prohibits advertising or selling any fur product that is falsely or misleadingly labeled.
It authorizes the Federal Trade Commission to seek criminal penalties, including fines of up to $5,000 per violation, and provides for the seizure of mislabeled products. Criminal charges can be filed against violators, and the U.S. Customs Service can impose marking duties, liquidated damages, or seize improperly labeled imported items.
China, the source for the raccoon-dog fur as well as many other controversial fur products, has no animal-welfare laws. Animals killed for their fur in China face horrible abuse and are often skinned alive.
Combs, once named the wealthiest man in the United States under age 40 by Forbes magazine, launched his clothing line in 1998, taking it retail in 2004. In late 2003 he was hit with charges by human-rights groups that the line was using Honduran sweatshops to produce its trendy togs.
Hi Steph, I have bought a few fur from Dennis Basso in New York through QVC..he is claiming that his furs are fux but the ones I had looked real that is why I got rid of them,,I should of had them analized before I did, in fact I will purchase one and have it analized..I was wondering, since QVC said that there is quality control over there with the furs but one can't be sure, "one can't be sure" is the qualifed statement that I heard....means to me that it could be possible that the mfg. in China is using maybe racoon dog fur or other animal..do you know how I can get in contact with the mfg in China for his furs????? don't know if can purchase one now because of the season coming around to be spring..what do you think? I want to know about his furs because he sells a lot and it only says made in China on the label.
Always says ONLY "Made in China"..that why the legislatin has to be passed for all manufacturers to state exactly where the fur comes from...this is such an important piece of legislation, it means designers and manufacturers will think twice before using the fur out of fear of public outrage...I hope it happens soon, I have signed and written my reps about it. I wouldn't know of a certain manufacturer in China. But I would write to QVC "demanding" they let you know of the origin of the fur, I would say like I did with Boyds that my niece is highly allergic and can go into respatory (?) distress if she comes anywhere near dog hair....see what they say, maybe put in if this info is bogus and you find the hair to be that of a dog, you will sue. I don't know sounds indimidating right? Maybe they will come clean on the fears that the will be sued if someone with a bad allergy dies from wearing dog fur...I can see that happening

Good, this is another orgaination helping animals in Asia. You know one of the problems is that these organizations are not strong because of the their fear from the government, I read that also in one of their news documents. That is so sad.
I finally received an answer from Boyds Bears about the fur they use....here is their response and my email...
Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for dropping us a note and for your inquiry. All the material
we use for the skins of the animals is synthetic, man made material.
Hopefully this helps resolve the issue.
Sincerely,
Folks at Boyds

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have been collecting boyds bears for quite some time and I was
wondering
what the hair of the bears are made of. I ask this because I notice the
bears
are made in China. China is known for using real dog and cat fur in
their
products. I have noticed my niece sneezes every time she comes in
contact
with the bears. I need to know this because on your tag in talks about
the
inside and what that is made of but not the outside. Please respond to
this
question, because my next step is to have these hairs analyzed. Thank
you for
your prompt attention to this matter.
Hey guys, before I leave I need your help on this-
