I had a Calico for about 18 years who I had named 'Chui'. I actually got the name from my sister's first husband's cat, from over 30 years ago, a cat I absolutely loved. Good name, and later known as nickname for Chewbaca of Star Wars. I recently asked my niece, whatever happened to her dad's cat he had that was named Chui. She about fell out laughing, and finally after me asking her over and over what was so funny... 'He names all of his cats he has owned Chui!'
But I like the name. Also check out a dictionary of mythological names, maybe you can find some there that have meaning you can relate to each cat. Some cool names in there. Sometimes the bigger dictionaries have the mythological names in the back. Or do a search online for mythological names with meanings.
Have fun... Wendy : )

Yes - on looks - that is what works......that's how we got a 'snickers' and a 'cupcake'.....LOL
Looks can be very persuasive (sp???)!!!!!
And let's not even get into personality-----all my cats would be named "Crazy" or "High on Something" - lol

google cats names. or just naming cats. they have lists, that are very cool. If you cna't find something there, juts spend time with the cats. their personality will lead you.

good luck!

Try naming them after characteristics(we had a cat who'd start purring when you came within inches of touching her- Purrbaby)..or maybe after a character from a book/movie you really like...or, even just a normal human name!

I grew up with cats butnow have a small dog-funny I know. anyhow we always named them by the way they looked-characteristics, personality traits etc...

examples we had acat with a button nose-named her buttons-lol, mymom named her cat patches because her fur was like patchwork-lol, we had a cat with alike of striped like rings that went around her-named her ringer-lol, i had a kitten that was alittle ball of orangy fur i named him rusty-lol, mom has a cat we actually call by 2 different names-she looks she has little white socks on her paws so hence one name-socks she also has big bright eyes hence another name bright eyes. one morw example mymom has a cat that is the the color of like oreao cookies and it looks like she has a little white dribble of milk going down her wee chin from her mouth hence the name cookie dribble- lol funny i know but hey be you.i hope i helped some. good luck.

My older cat Jersey had that name at the shelter, I kept it because my husband is from New Jersey. My black cat was named Satin at the shelter but I changed her name to Emma, just because it sounded innocent in contrast to how scary she might look.
I prefer people names, I've always disliked stuff like Mittens or Skippy, my pets all have first, middle & last names. I like it that way.

This is not one I would advise but my father once named one of our cats Hiram T Chuckleworth (don't ask me why). We never let him name another cat!

i went through so many names before i found the perfect one, usually people name their cats because of the special accasion or the persinality that the kitty has but i know that once you find that perfect name youll know right away!

Our first cat we named Casper simply because he's all white. That's common. Our second cat was a little harder. I thought and thought. She didn't have much of a personality being 7 weeks old and there are not to many names for black cats at least none that fit her. Then it just came to me a couple days after we got her. Zoey! To me it says small and cute.
