I have a 4 month old bulldog that was kicked by a neighbor, in the face, three days ago. The police came out and even though he admitted to kicking her, the police said they could not do anything. She went to the vet yesterday because she now has cherry eye in the eye she was kicked. The vet said that this normally happens when there is trauma from something or someone. I can't believe we can not do anything to this neighbor.
How awful! How can people do these horrible things to animals? When I was younger my golden retriever was hit by a car in my parent's quiet neighborhood, by a jerk who often sped through the area, even though almost all homes had small children and dogs who were always out playing. He hit my dog and then stopped, leaving my dog trapped underneath the car, the muffler burning his skin. We had to jack the car up and drag him out, which took some time, but all the while this neighbor (jerk) kept yelling at us to keep our pets inside and away from the streets-essentially saying it was our fault it had happened. Long story short, our dog had to have extensive surgery and we made this jerk pay, although it was a long process and was such a pain, because he kept trying to say it was not his fault. You have every right to take your neighbor to court to make him pay for what he did to your poor puppy!
Kudos to you for making the jerk pay! It can be a long and difficult process, and if your dog is not leashed, will sometimes change the outcome of the court case... but if you think you are right, then you are right to pursue it.
God Bless... Wendy : )
Selin, thank you for your sympathy and concern. At this point, our neighbors our trying to cooperate and will pay our vet bill. so we don't want to antagonize them yet. We will wait and see what happens. I think that basically they are good people. What happened was their grandpa, who lives with them, opened up the metal cage, where they dogs stay and then forgot to close the cage. That is how they got out and attacked my little chihuahua. They drove my husband to vet and offered to pay the bill. Also they want to get us another chi to replace Chuy. Well, you cannot replace Chuy actually, but at least they are trying to do right. Yes at this point, I would rather work with them and not make things worse.
what part of the country is this. because about 8 yrs back i had a neighbor kid who threw rocks at my dog and hit her in the eye, i called the police and they gave the parents a summon.( the kid was only 12 so his parents were responsible) they had to go to court and they were ordered to pay a fine and they made the kid do volunteer work at a local shelter. actually i think the parents and the kid had to do the volunteer work together. it was only for 1 day (like 4 hrs) but it was something. i then sued them in civil court to pay my dogs vet bills. she had some damage to her eye ( cherry eye also ) but thankfully didn't lose her sight. the people at first were jerks about it. but they eventually came around and apologized. although i was glad when they moved. this was on long island , but i would hope authorities everywhere would do something about this terrible act of violence. they say people who hurt animals usually end up being abusers of some sort.
i hope your baby is doing well , and i send her little puppy kisses :)
So glad the police there advocated actually making out a police report to summons the parents of the boy to be responsible for the actions of their child. It is refreshing to hear that the authorities actually took action instead of saying it wasn't a 'big deal', and made it easy for you to actually have the person's held responsible for an act of violence to an animal!
I would write or send a Thank you note to that police department in recognition of their consideration and duty in carrying out the law!
Thanks and God Bless... Wendy : )
if they admitted to it while the police were there, it should be in the police report, if there was one. from there, you should take that to the court if the city police wouldnt do anything about it.
Jamie: No one came -- no police, no animal control agency. In my city, Bakersfield, our agencies are sorely lacking and inadequate. My neighbors' daughter has been harrassed by her boyfriend, stalked is more the word. They have called the police several times and they never respond. I guess we have so much other crime with illegal aliens and drug problems, that they do not have time for these crimes. We have had budget problems too -- not enough money to go around in California. Out Animal Control is a joke really. Just people on payroll taking money and not even doing their jobs. Soxford
Francisco welcome and I never in my whole life watched such a sad video I cried my eyes out for that poor raccoon the pain it must of felt and how a human being if you can call him that would skin the racoon alive why not kill it in a humane way why make the animal struggle. So yes DON'T BUY ANYTHING MADE FROM CHINA...those toys you see in petstores are from animals those fur trims on things that say made in china are most likely a racoon dog or cat so please yes we have to do something about this what can we do third world countries are horrific places for animals human beings are low on the trade and don't care who they kill as long as they get some money so it's the supply and demand if the US STOPS DEMANDING those assholes can't murder anymore. so please help
I will say its better. However I have a question why was my comment deleted it was within the frame of decency for some odd reason it has been removed is it our troll the draggeltailed guttersnipe? Lisbeth and the lads.
I found it just easier to get blood work done and let the Vet test to see what my Max was allergic to and then treat from there. Most of it was food. A few out door stuff and that I couldn't help to avoid. Like me, I can not just not go outside for…
