I have a 4 month old bulldog that was kicked by a neighbor, in the face, three days ago. The police came out and even though he admitted to kicking her, the police said they could not do anything. She went to the vet yesterday because she now has cherry eye in the eye she was kicked. The vet said that this normally happens when there is trauma from something or someone. I can't believe we can not do anything to this neighbor.

Good for you. Fortunately I live in Bayonne, NJ where almost everyone has a pet or pets and the township takes all animal complaints very seriously. We have a great animal rescue service and CARE who stays on top of stuff. Needless to say it can always be better but we do what we can.

Edda: the day we called the Animal Control, my husband happened to be driving by a local park. Anyway, who was taking a very long break, but the employees of the Animal Control. He said he drove back over there one hour later and the guys were still sitting in the park. My husband called and told the Animal control where the employees were and what they were doing. They kind of denied it and said no the men were on a service call. WELL, he said there were no dogs around to pick up, so my hubbie figured there just goofing off. This is what our tax dollars pay for. Employees who do not do their jobs. It really is irritating when you really need them to pick up a dangerous dog and they never have time to do it. Even when confronted with their employees not doing their job, they still will not accept the truth. Probably their job (supervisor or director of Animal control) is on the line too. So, I sure can sympathize with you Edda.

I here you it's wrong what people can do and get away with.
My family adopts abused animals
Scooby is a six year old broader collie. He is intelligent with a high learning capacity. He is like most boarder collie spices in the aspect that he like to run round, playing, he loves baseball, Frisbee, and if his owner’s daughter gets to close to her boyfriend Scooby even has a tendency to find a way to wedge himself in between the daughter and the boyfriend. Looking at Scooby one could never tell that a few years earlier, he fell victim to animal abuse and almost lost his life. His past owner used to beat him severely to the point if person even raised their voice why he was around he would wet himself. The former owner of Scooby demand “that someone take him because Scooby was not wroth the 25 cent bullet that it would take to kill the dog.” The previous owner than just walked out, despite Scooby’s injuries and extensive veterinary bills the former owner went unpunished; she didn’t even get a fine for her actions.Scooby still to this day despite being in a new home were he is loved still has nightmares and is afraid to be in small rooms by himself.

Traci: Sad about how badly Scooby was treated, but I am glad to hear he has a good owner now. I just don't understand how people could mistreat a poor helpless animal. They definitely must be sick in the head though, so that probably explains the abuse of animals. Just happy to hear there are people like you out there.

A great big thank you.

I commend you and LOVE to hear those kind of stories. You are the kind of person the world needs more of.Every one of my cats (I have 4)I rescued off the street.I don't understand why a person has a pet if they're not going to take care of it. It is just so sad to me.

Oh my Gosh, I don't know what to say. What was that police officer thinking. First of all if the dog did bite someone the dog should have been taken away not shot in the people's yard. That's appauling to shoot an animal in a residential area with chilren around. I think he should be under investigation, suspended and pschiatrically evaluated. He doesn't sound like a stable individual.

Thanks Clarissa: It did hurt a lot, but I am gradually getting over it. I already have a new dog, who is so very cute. Another chihuahua that we named Chaco. He is chocolate brown and tan in color and just adorable. We are very happy to have him.

Thanks again for your sympathy.

It is insane to say that the round-ups are not working if you yourself have seen that the horses are healthy and happy out there. That is the point of the roundups. A mare can have one foal per year and each foal can begin having a foal per year at…
