I have a 4 month old bulldog that was kicked by a neighbor, in the face, three days ago. The police came out and even though he admitted to kicking her, the police said they could not do anything. She went to the vet yesterday because she now has cherry eye in the eye she was kicked. The vet said that this normally happens when there is trauma from something or someone. I can't believe we can not do anything to this neighbor.
This 50 year old man from central america, guillermo "habacuc" vargas, who has the nerve to call himself an "artist," captures stray dogs and starves them to death in art galleries, and he's getting away with it. As an art student and a pet lover, I am extremely offended and ashamed of humanity if an old man like him can torture animals like this. I thought we were more enlightened. Dogs are man's best friend, and it is our responsibility to take care of them and stop murderous acts like this.
Actually, the police should have been able to help you out. I mean it was animal cruelty, and they should have arrested him on a count of animal abuse. I don't know what they didn't arrest him. I would ask your vet, because vets are supposed to report any animal cruelty. I don't know if maybe the police were just to busy that day, which is not right, but you should go talk to the sheriff. If you have an animal shelter near by, the people that work there are supposed to he able to help you and could gie you an idea what to do. They are trained to deal with abused animals or cases like that. If the police didn't arrest him on a count of animal abuse, then they shoudl have at lest wrote him up and filed it. Maybe you should talk to a lawyer? Just see what they would say to do.
well i know of a horse that is really under weight, i called the sheriff but they lied to him, about it she has an ad on horsetopia and she told the sheriff she only had the horse a couple weeks and the ad has been running since jan, so what can be done if the sheriff wont do anything about this mare.
I dont know where u live but if theres a humane society around i would call them and let them know of the situation and explain to them that u tried to call the cops but they didnt do anything and this horse is very underweight and theres nothing being done about it. Keep calling untill they get sick of you and maybe just maybe somethin can be done about that. I just dont get it horses are such a privilege to have and anyone can just have a horse (me) and it really pisses me off when people just dont care about the things or animals they have. Its not right, and u being a good samaritan need to follow up on that and dont give up on it. where u the lady that also spoke about that german shepard that was starving, if so, whats happening w/ that, it not ..... sorry wrong person.
I just joined the site and am not sure how to post a question, so i am just going to use it as a reply and hopefully I will get a response.
I am a teacher and today a student told another teacher that her mom was going to put their dog to sleep because it was hurt and they couldn't afford to fix it. I guess the mom of the student babysits many children and they would not treat the dog very well and it got hurt. So, the teacher said to bring it to school and she would take it in. Well, it ends up that the poor thing needs back surgery! This will cost thousands of dollars. Does anyone know of any organization that will help pay for the surgery? She really wants to keep the dog and save it from the cruel world it has been living in...Any suggestions??? Also, is there anything we can do to keep the student and her family from ever having an animal again?????

report them to a local humane society or spca group. they will be charged with animal cruelty. if there isn't a local humane society, call the apca ( in NYC) they may be able to route you to who can help. document every injury this poor dog has, bring him to a vet ASAP, and take pics of the dog, some vets will do things pro bono. call your local news with this and get a fundraiser going, if you can get a vet to work with you and getting a fundraiser together and get a news channel to broadcast the story, you could raise the money quickly. best friend animal society sometimes can also help, they are in utah. i'm not sure what state you are in , but if you aren't far from them , they might be a good choice. also there are specific rescue's around that will help with vetting costs, usually local vets know of these rescue groups in their area, that might also be helpful. i hope this helps in some way . good luck with this poor baby , i hope you can find the help so desperately needed to help
I think you should tell her to see in the internet with associations that protect animals or ask windows, who can also help with it. I've read many e-mails in my inbox saying that windows has some charity requests and they'll help, but I don't know about animals, but if they help, I guess they'll do it no matter what it is. It is a living thing like us anyways. And about the baby sitter, I can'y say anything, because we don't know if it was a case of animal cruelty. I hope someone can do something about that, animals are pets and friends, not little kids toys.
Ming and I are walking in the Anti Cruelty Society "Bark In The Park" 5k on May 3rd! Please help support us in preventing animal cruelty. Together we can make a huge difference- even a dollar can make a difference! Go to our TOTALLY SECURE fundraising site for the Anti Cruelty Society 5k and make a small donation- we'd really appreciate your consideration! Thanks, love Amy, MooShu & Ming http://www.firstgiving.com/thevelvetsnoot
I'm new to the site and am still trying to navigate the forums. I'll leave my question here in hopes of a suggestion as well.
The house next door to us had been empty for 2 years after a nice old lady had past away. Unfortunately some guy bought the house and has been a pain in the butt ever since.
The day after he moved in he came pounding on our door demanding we move our kennel to the other side of our house because he didn't like our dogs.
The following day he brought his Pitbull/Dalmation mix onto his new property. He never provided proper shelter for the dog nor could he be bothered to even so much and give the dog a place to get out of the hot desert sun. He also took delight into boasting to the entire neighborhood about how vicious his dog was. He also had no problem with allowing his dog to freely roam the streets all day and night. He was extreamly rough and beat the dog often. We'd report this to the local animal control but to no avail.
One weekend he filled a large bowl full of dog food and filled a bucket full of water and left town for two weeks. After only three days and a good long rainstorm the dog had no food and only had stagnate water to drink. We debated trying to give him some proper food and water but knew that would not have ended well as if anything else happened and we had been seen giving the dog food and/or water he could claim we poisoned his dog. So, again, we called the local AC to report the problem but they,. again, refused to even bother to come check on the dog.
After a week the dog had gotten hungry enough he broke through the fence and attacked a woman who was walking her dog. after tussling with her and her husband the dog became frenzied and started attacking anyone to dared exit their yards.
Two people had been bit on the legs, one in the face, and one on the arm. a Police officer was also bit on both arms trying to subdue the dog. When the AC arrived to take the dog away, we made a point to make sure they were fully aware of the poor condition the dog had been kept in and that the attack would not have happened had they done something about the man months prior.
Sadly, dispite the dog not truely being at fault (There are no bad dogs. Only bad owners) he was put down. The man suffered NO penalties for the attack nor the cruel conditions and care of the dog and now, about 9 months later, he has purchased another pitbull mix who he has already begun striking with horse leads, ropes, and 2X2's. I assume to make the dog aggressive.
It's clear that the local law enforcement and AC will not do anything about this guy. Is there ANYTHING we can do before he ruins another dog's life?
Whata fu... is that? I don't understand why people do that. Why have a pet you're not gonna take care of? I really hate reading this. You know, I think you should take pictures of the dog and show it to animals control or the police so that they can arrest that cruel, abusive guy. Gosh it pisses me that people just get away doing their sh.. and not be punished! And even more when the authorities don't take part in avoiding or at least preventing. What's up with the laws and protection????!!!!
Winning? Is that what all this crap is about? You two have something to "win" here by fighting flame wars and disrupting everything?
I, for one, have had it with both of you! You are nothing but troublemakers! Get the hell off of this website and d…
The fish food, which by the way is two words rather than one is getting old. And stop shrieking, one can literally hear it in your words.
You are a very misguided person, and please keep the comments coming.
