I know rules stink, but we've come up with a new system for groups, since we have so many great ones that we don't want to get lost in the shuffle.

Rule number one! This one has already been enacted and enforced, but any groups un-related to animals will be deleted immediately.

Rule number two! Any groups that have been inactive for one month or more will be removed.

If you have an old group that you'd like to save or revive, please let me know asap. Otherwise, anything with a date activity prior to July 1, will be removed by the end of the week.

Thanks all for your understanding!
Best,
ASPCA

Thank you, that solves half the issues

There's a lot of member profiles here that have been untouched for months. All I had to do was to search in my local community. Perhaps profiles inactive for a certain time period should be removed as well. It would clear server space, which I know is always at a premium.

Thanks for the suggestion, Dwayne. We're okay on server space, since the community is hosted elsewhere. The issue is when we remove profiles, the program deletes all the users' previous contributions. So we might inadvertently remove some good content, even if the user is no longer active.

Right, I was thinking that too. Its a Ning site, so I think Bandwidth is okay but I might be wrong.

M-A Thank you so very much for hearing me, and the rest of the community!

I hate to be a tell all, but all the kids just simply came back with new profiles. Banning will never work without banning the IP address

I was just about to ask the "now what" question of: Now what are we gonna do...they just come back with different names, new profiles, and now no ages listed! Most of us here (I know Bams will agree) are here to have comprehensive conversations...

OMG, it is a never ending battle that I am tired of fighting. I don't even want a Ning group, I don't want anything. I am SO TIRED of it all, really I am. Sorry M-A if this upsets you, sorry if I sound unreasonable...but I know that it is not that hard to BAN IP addresses...really

I went on their Ning group and asked them all to stop, they have their own, why come here

Bam you are not the only one who feels like this..we all do. I know I do at least. Everyone that actually does something on this site is sick of being ran out by children. Every discussion you go on someone is fighting because they say we call them dumb etc. Half the time you much rather stay out of the discussions but then again what if someone needs your help? Something needs to be done. Like I have said there are many and I mean many people I already know are sick and tired of kids ruining a site like this. If someone wants to tell me if I don't like it then leave..so be it..I will. I'll make sure I never give anything towards this site and the company though. It's a shame.

At the moment there's no way for Network Creators to ban people by IP. That's largely because banning based on IP is not entirely effective, as IPs are not individual, meaning you'd possibly be banning multiple people from accessing your network. Also, IPs are not static, meaning that your IP address is likely to change in a few hours, again providing banned members access to your network.

I'm sorry. I know this, I was just upset. Its all rather frustrating. Especially because I created groups on their ning to mimic the ASPCA site, created threads, tried to stimulate conversation and it is still a problem. I am giving it my all to try to make everyone happy and it is not doing a bit of good. UGH
