This ad is the most ridiculous and asinine ad ever. This joker says that he is a meatarian and it is"his personal choice" and he is committed to it.This is a slap in the face for vegetarains such as myself whose vegetarianism is a immutable lifestlye and center of my life. for me it is a personal committment and I have been practicing it for over 20 years. (I am 80 years old). This joker shoud be made to watch the video and or visit a slaughterhouse,(Howard Lyman said that if you ever have a chance to visit a slaughterhouse, don't.

is this like a new century shakespeare? OMG...do we not bleed? Do we not feel? Do we not weep? I ask thee, is thiseth not only your opinion? That is just totally retarded.
DUDE...I don't know what planet you're from but this is a free country and just because someone does not share your opinion, does not mean they're wrong. Sooooo...you are an atheist. And since you don't believe in God, either way, you're going to burn in hell, correct? That's MY belief so anyone who doesn't share it must be WRONG. Be real. Everyone has their own beliefs and none are right or wrong. Granted, I DO believe in God and I don't believe that you have to be a non meat eater to be a "good"person. I guess my dogs must be bad too since they eat meat too. You have voiced your opinion, but don't seem to want to hear everyone else's. That's one can of worms you should not have opened if you didn't want replies that don't share your beliefs.

You suppose?what is your belief-do you think that you are an animal abuser because you eat meat. Not really, others do the slaughtering, castrating, tail docking, dragging, throat slitting-not you.so why would you think that? You just pay others to do it.No problem. I commend and thank you for your good works. I wish that no animals ever had to suffer.I cry when I watch the animals rescues on TV.I became active in animal rts, welfare in 1984. I am now 80

Because that is what so many of the others have told us over and over and OVER again! There have been those people that like to make the non-veggitarians feel like garbage and second rate people because we made a different choice...I am so tired of people with differing views thinking they are better than the others that eat differently than they do, that vote differently than they do, that BELIEVE in things they don't believe in. Cramming opinions down other peoples throats to prove their point just doesn't settle with me.

Do you think I did not cry when we went to rescue the 53 starving Siberians from a puppymill who's owner was so asinine to beilieve "god will proved for those in need" so she didn't have to feed them? Do you think I did not cry when we went to rescue the Siberian that was used as PitBull bait in a fighting ring only to be thrown out the window of a second story when we showed up? I have cried more than my fair share in my whopping 25 years of existance. I live rescue on the front lines, I don't need to watch it on TV...I don't need more pain in my heart. But all of this seems to be forgotten with one sentance: I eat meat, that is my choice. I would like to know why...and why some would like to make me feel like a second rate citizen because of a choice I didn't even have to make, I was raised in it.

No one can make you feel like a second hand citizen nor Bad, You are the ones using that term.I find this happens often with meat eaters. They rush to defend their meat eating an d seem to get on the defensive.Why.After all what is bad"what is evil?what is suffering? Pain is Pain.no matter t. Each of us makes his or her own choice. No one can change your beliefs;only you can do that. My only point is that one should know the suffering. then make up his/her own mind.It seems to be such a difficult thing. it is not.

i am not a religious person in the slightest, but i just cannot possibly condone the fact that animals should suffer and die in order for me to eat/dress. i would say that i'm fairly substantial and not lacking in a dietary sense, and the past 16 years have shown me that i am very much able to exist without meat in my diet or wearing fur, leather, feathers etc. as i said in my original post, everybody in my locale eats meat as do most of my friends - but that's their choice to make and not mine, they have to live their lives as they see fit just as i do and if eating meat is what makes them happy and wearing the products of animals, then who am i to argue. whilst i don't agree and it wouldn't work for me personally anymore, they probably think the same thing about me and my ideals!

Agreed Mandy. I may not agree with your beliefs but I do agree with respecting other people. I myself do not believe in fur, but I do believe I can have a steak and not be considered a bad person, but to each its own and that was the point of me coming on here. I am not defending meat eating and I am not defending meat eaters, I am defending our right to have an opinion of our own and to do our own thing without being drug through the mud. However, the original poster has lost my respect when he/she, whatever, wants to pick a fight over silly grammar. I have no time for that immaturity

Hi all,

Any time you are discussing ethics and/or morals with a highly diverse group such as this, you run the risk of offense. I would like everyone to know that my ideas, spiritual beliefs, and actions are mine and only mine. I take responsibility for them and would never ask anyone to adopt my beliefs without filtering them for themselves.

Having said that, I think anyone who cares enough about an issue to call it a belief should be willing to examine and/or defend that belief. After all, how do you know you really believe something if you can't defend that belief when it is challenged. Isn't this one possible reason that people get upset when they discuss differences of belief?

There are many really good potential discussions within this thread, but they are not worth pursuing if we allow anger and personal comments to rule over logical debate.

For example, several folks mentioned the freedom of choice we enjoy in our country. Yes, we do live in a free country, and we do have freedom of choice. But, do our societal attitudes, rituals, and even laws not change due to controversy and debate.

In a recent example, Louisiana just became the last state in the U.S. to outlaw cock fighting. Would any of us debate that this is a progressive and humane societal change? And if they would, what would they argue; tradition?, culture?, freedom of choice? How long do you suppose they could debate this issue before someone got angry and began to get personal?

Someone smarter than me said a long time ago that you can always tell when you have won an argument. You have won when the person you are debating stops discussing the issue and starts to attack you.

I sincerely apologize to anyone that my comments may have offended, but I do not apologize for my opinions. I actually enjoy a good debate because it gives me an opportunity to examine my beliefs and why I believe what I do. And, I am proud to say that at least some of my beliefs are directly attributable to debating others that have provided me with evidence and opinions that I could not refute through time, meditation, research or prayer.

Regards,

Paul

animals were born to eat meat but we wernt i even looked it up

Humans lack both the physical characteristics of carnivores and the instinct that drives them to kill animals and devour their raw carcasses. Ask yourself: When you see dead animals on the side of the road, are you tempted to stop for a snack? Does the sight of a dead bird make you salivate? Do you daydream about killing cows with your bare hands and eating them raw? If you answered "no" to all of these questions, congratulations—you're a normal human herbivore—like it or not. Humans were simply not designed to eat meat.

i dont know why everyone fights over this. i have friends who eat meat and some who dont. its a personal choice, you cant force your ideas on people, and raggin on them aint going to help either. just let everyone live their lives, you said what you wanted about the comercial, thats your right. but come on lady, you're shaming the name of vegetarians everywhere. you make it sound like we all just sit around eating plants and talk about meat eaters.

and you people who dont like what she says... then why do you answer her replies. if she wants to get her god hating self mad let her take it out on her computer. why do you care what she says. honestly you all are acting like children. grow up and leave each other alone. i think if you love animals and you know you're a good person, then who cares if you eat meat.
