Broward County Florida New Dangerous Dog Law

Someone please help! My neighbors dog was in my yard aggravating my 2 dogs, while being provoked one of my dogs pushed the gate open and escaped. The two dogs began to fight in my yard, unforunatly the other dog, a yokie did not make it. I am at my wits end!!! They claim it was in thier yard when it was not. After seeing my dog escape I ran out and stopped the fight, my dog let go instantly however I have a stafford shire terrir and she is 66 lbs and the other dog was very small. This was a horrible accident but with the new law they will put my dogs down since the neighbors cant seem to get their story straight. We are talking a matter of inches, now how can they kill them for a matter of inches. If anyone knows a good attorney that can help me I would be very interested. These are my kids and taking them away is wrong. I feel horrible about what happened and paid all the expenses for the vet. The neighbors have even claimed it was not our fault and the Animal Control has even said they are not dangerous but with the nighors constanly changing their story my dogs still sit on DEATH ROW. Please help me save my dogs!!!

Hey my name is Michael Nathanson and i now live in Toledo Oh i was born And raised in Coral Springs Fl and i am aware of what has been going on down there with this type of breed,i have one my self. The only thing i can think of is to make sure all of this breed get insurence. Due to are Local Dog worden he is a dick and is trying to make it that all pitbull's & it mixes be put down. It suck so bad because she is my baby also. I fell your pain. Not to mention that here in ohio they have made a law that you must keep your vicious dog in your house at all times. When it goes outside off of your property it must be mussled and when it is on your property it must be in a kennel that has a top on it and must be in a fenced in yard.. To me that is a bunch of bull. Stop banning the breen ban the owners,,Right. Well i really feel bad for you and that is why i wrote tis messed up spelling letter so maybe it will help you understand that Florida's law's are bad but not as bad as they could make them.. if you ever need somebody to talk with please dont hesitate to call my wife or I [phone]

Contact your local ASPCA or look on thier web-site they will direct you to an Attorney who works with them or they know of that is an Animal person.

Hi All,
Here is the latest update.....we now have a civil suit filed agaisnt Broward County since their law is in violation with the State of florida law and also my city oridenances. That hearing is not schedualed until Dec 19th. We still have the hearing for citations on the 24th of October so hopefully we will be found not guilty and will not need the civial suit. They have been moved to a different location so they are no longer in solitary confinment. The new place (VCA Animal Hospital) allows us to take them out and play in the fenced in yard with them so at least they will get some excercise...since for the 20 days they were at animal control they NEVER let them out of their cage. Well that is the latest for now if anything else happens i will keep you all informed. Thanks for all the support this has been very rough on our family.
