SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!
You all remember Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona , who painted the jail cells pink and made the inmates wear pink prison garb. Well………
SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!
Oh, there’s MUCH more to know about Sheriff Joe!
Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operat ed by prisoners.

I sure hope the inmates are watched closely when dealing with them animals. If they are aggressive people they may just be abusive to the animals.
Here in Billlings, Mt we have Prison Paws for Humanity. The female prison gets dogs that they are in charge of and have to train and care for. It has been a very successful venture. We recently had a puppy mill bust and a few of those dogs have been taken to the Prison for Rehab as well.
Some prisons are adopting this program. It teaches the imates to care about something that will care for them as well and doesn't judge them for all the wrong they have done. It called unconditional love. Many of the inmates are in jail because of their past in which really didn't give them any excuse to harm others but they all committed a crime for a reason. Now, any person that is a murder of humans and animals in my book belong 6' under or better yet like Chad at one time said lets take them hunting. LOL! Anyway, the point is it is helping the animals and the imates as well. Smart Sherrif. One thing I know is inmates do not go for animal or child abusers. Once the inmates learn that their ass is beaten.
True true....I would just be a little concerned having them work at the shelter. Good and bad points I guess. I like the prison paws for humanity though.
Go Sheriff Joe! I'm with Renee I like this guy and I have to give him a big kudos maybe he can teach these offenders to have some empathy and to CARE for animals. I bet it would be easy to keep track of the prisioners walking dogs (in pink jumpsuits LOL!!!). I like Chris' idea too!!!

I don't have the right nor the knowledge of how to move your posts to one of the groups. And you would have to be a member there first. The mods could probably do it; they have more tools than members. I suspect it would be easiest if done b…
