Zanesville Police Patrolman Mike Schiele and his K9 partner Bosco will be driving to Chicago tomorrow.
Both have been invited to a taping of the Oprah Show. Schiele will get the chance to share the story of what happened on August 23rd to the nation.
Chief Eric Lambes says it's something his department is very proud of.
"The officers know that what they do is not unnoticed. The community does care and they pay attention. It's nice that there's some recognition there, " says Lambes.
Lambes says the community's response to Schiele's and Bosco's wellness has been heart-warming, overwhelming, and has helped their story be nationally recognized.
"Fortunately for us, everything is turning out well. The possibility could have been much more gray. So, we're really kind of celebrating now instead of mourning a loss of either one of those two, " says Lambes.
While the taping of the show will take place this Wednesday, it is not yet certain when the piece will air on the Oprah Show.
We will bring that information to you when it becomes available.
