has this ever happened to you? My dog who i have had for on ly a month. screams or yells out very load like he is being murdered. I think he is sleeping I pick him up and he stops. He has startled me in my sleep His yell makes your heart race. The know kill shelter gave me paper work showing he had a checkup. I am going to take him for a checkup this week. I hope he is just dreaming and not a health problem . MY male who passed at 11years old had kidney disease all his life. I' m really nervous about dealing with a sick dog emotionally its to soon. But if thats the case, I guess thats the way it is. It was very hard when my boy dog was ill.
My dog Rue lab x, who is a rescue dog, we have had him 5 yrs and he still has nightmares I guess you would call them. He doesn't have them as often now but at first it was bad he would howl, bark, whine growl. He hardly ever does that now. Give your dog time and he will probably relax. Take him to the vet just to make sure but it sounds like he is still a little scared to me, but better safe tahn sorry
Your description sounds exactly like what i experience with wolfman. I try to make him feel very secure . He is a real loverboy, but a baby. His owner supposedly went into assisted living. I think she may have altimers and may have abused him with out realizing it. I don't think I spelled that diesease correctly. THANK YOU
My Wren and Cricket will do something similar to this but both of them were severely beaten adn should have died from the abuse and neglect. They have nightmares and scream at night. If I wake them up and make them realize they are home and safe, they dont have any issues the next day but if I dont they regress for a little bit.

thank you for the information! It was comforting. I am very glad to hear your once abused dogs have a nice home. I hate to hear that people can be so mean to animals.
My dog Jenny seems to have nightmares every once in a while. I don't think she was ever mistreated. My previous dogs seemed to have them too; and I know they we not mistreated because I raised them from pups. Thus I would guess that some dogs are just prone to nightmares (just like people).
I have nightmares almost every night. Sometimes when I wake up from one, I have to force myself to stay awake for a while so that I don't re-enter it again. I believe that all dreams are merely coded remakes of one's current waking life situations. Some are bound to make one fearful.
thanks for the information! I hope that is the case, and he was never abused. I have been around alot of animals, and never heard a dog yell like that from a dream. It scared me too death ! I will also ask my vet about it when he goes for a physical this week.
well u could sneek up on him and see what he is screaming about? well maybe he had a nightmare! who knows! well good luck trying to see what the problem is chat later!
Does anyone have a ferret who has adrenal disease? My baby has adrenal disease and I don't know what to do. Right now he is getting his monthly Lupron injections but I've read that surgery is the only possible cure but that usually after removing on…
Belle, I don't know if you read my blog about our six toed cat but that was the ONLY time we were allowed to hold him and love on him. Under sedation just before we let him go. We spent over 5 years with that cat and other than an occasional rub dow…
