Help, I Need Info On An Abandoned, Neglected Dog

Yesterday I found an abandoned dog wandering around. She has been alone for sometime because she is just about a walking skeleton, loaded with fleas, sores all over her. I treated her with Advantix last night & the fleas are gone now. I found out from some neighbors close to where I found her that the people that owned her moved & left her. I've seen their house before, if you can call it that, & I can't see how anyone could live in such filth. She is sweet as she can be, a large dog, her face looks like she might have some pit bull in her but I don't know. I live in the country & am trying to find a rescue, humane society in Tallahassee, Fl or some place that could take her but not having any luck so far. I would take her but I already have three dogs & a cat & they're about to break me as it is. So.....I need HELP!!! I've enclosed some picures of her

Great Heather, I'll email you her info...& you already have pics of her. Stupid me, I've even gone ahead & named her Lucy. I slowly introduced my dogs to her. She acted like she was afraid of them, & then after a while they didn't even pay any attention to each other. I was worried at first, especially with the two little ones because she looks like she's got some pit bull in her but she's sweet as she can be & a big wimp, Ha!

Heather, that statement I made about being worried about the little dogs because I thought she had some pit bull in her didn't sound right. I was concerned because you know how some big dogs can be with little ones, sometimes it just doesn't work out. It sounded like I was being prejudice toward pits, I'm not at all.

Thanks Liddy, I haven't thought about that. I've been on the phone all morning with rescue places but no luck so far. She is about as sweet as she can be. When I found her on the road yesterday she came right up to me. I was hesitant about picking her up to put her in the car but she was no problem at all, I'm glad of that, Ha. She's a big dog & I don't know but her face kinda looks like she might have some pit bull in her. I just hope I can find someone to take her. I can't, I have three dogs & a cat & they keep me in the poor house as it is, Ha! Her picture doesn't show it but she is literally a walkng skeleton. She's been out there for some time.

Bullies, thanks so much for getting back to me. I called HSUS of Tallahassee earlier this morning, probably too early. The voice mail wasn't loud enough to hear anything. I'll try again shortly. I think I tried them a couple of years ago on the same situation with another dog I found & they said they couldn't do anything????? I don't understand, that's what they do. I have a different number than yours, I'll try yours & see what happens. I've tried every rescue close to me, am waiting for phone calls back. I probably called them too early too, hopefully they'll call me. I'll call back but these long distance phone calls are going to kill me. I'd go ahead & keep her but I've got three dogs & a cat & they keep me in the poor house. Plus two of the dogs are tiny & I mean tiny. I'm afraid they might get hurt, stepped on, whatever. I just introduced the medium size dog to her & everything was fine, they hardly paid any attention to each other. As a matter of fact, the stray looked like she was afraid at first. If she's got any pit in her, she's a real wimp, Ha! But I'll keep her here as long as I have to but I've GOT to find her a home. Again thanks...& don't forget about me & this situation, Ha!

Tell any of the people that you talk to that you are willing to foster her if they will help with finding a home. The problem is they don't have room for her is why they can't help. So, they can post her picture on petfinder and her information and then direct people to your place.

Another thing, tell your animals it is time for animal prostitution so they can help with the food bill. LOL! I do.

Bullies, I'm keeping her until hopefully I can find someone to take her, so I guess that's fostering.
As far as prostitution, my dogs are a bunch of whores anyway, Ha!

Is there a chance you can foster the girl?

Her picture shows sadness and is hoping you will help her. Can you feed her small amount of food 2 times a day. Her stomach will be small and can't handle large amount of food so giving her 2 times will help her.
