How is boiling lobsters not counted as animal cruelty?

These fascinating creatures are cut and boiled alive and served as food to humans.
Merchants will try to justify boiling lobsters alive by explaining that their nervous systems aren't developed enough to feel pain. While being boiled alive, you can notice lobsters throwing their bodies around, scraping the pan, desperately trying to escape.
However some studies have proved that Lobsters do have a sophisticated nervous system

Of course there are studies which say Lobsters dont feel the pain.
But is this true?

I have had some mixed opinions on this topic. SOme found it dumb, wast of time, a drab post etc etc. All of us are free here to post our views/topics. But one cannot judge whether this post makes sense or not. Its an individual's choice what topic they want to discuss. If people find this post/any other post less intellectual, please dont even bother to pass on your replies. One may find a topic extremly useful at the same time another post just wasting dollars. That doesnt mean that you can oppose or pass nasty replies.

I don't know the answer to your question; but I suspect they do indeed feel pain.

I am responding to tell you of a way a friend of mine fixes lobsters that he claims to be most "humane." First he places the lobster(s) in a large pot of cold water. Very slowly he turns up the heat. The lobsters relax like in a sauna and slowly go to sleep. When the water is finally hot, the lobsters are already dead.

I don't eat lobster because I find it terribly overpriced and I don't like to have to kill my food.

I suppose it's also cruel to put a worm on a fish hook and drown it to catch a fish who will be allowed to die from lack of water, but I love to fish, so the worm loses.

Does the grass feel pain when you cut it? Studies say plants do better when you talk to them, they are living beings you know.
Between the PETA wingnuts and vegans I don't know which are worse.

Great views...rather interesting..I am amused. Guess there a huge difference between Plants and Lobsters..Plants would die if they are not taken care of by humans but lobsters are better off without humans.

My post was very simple...just asking whether lobsters feel the pain or not? Replies are so diverting, rather than focusing on the post..I am really not bothered in anyone's interest in fishing or hooking.

We are not lobsters, or at least I'm not.

I would think "studies" that try to find out if they feel pain would be worse than boiling them. Just how are they studied? for Pain? Someone would have to be trying to hurt them.
I'd rather boil um and eat um, with lots of butter.

And plants do not *need* people to take care of them. They've been growing wild forever.

But I must ask, where do you find the time to think up stuff like this?
Lobsters are part of the food chain, is it cruel when another creature tears them abart alive to eat them?
We are all creatures, we need to eat and killing *anything* for food isn't pretty.
