What is LACSC Day of Hope?
On the 28th of every month, I will be visiting local cancer centers to give out small gifts to cancer patients. Each month, I will pick a different clinic to visit in the Jacksonville, Florida area and surrounding counties throughout the year. Personally, I hope to give each patient hope and encourage them to continue their fight against cancer and its effects in their life. There are several ways to celebrate LACSC Day of Hope, whether you live in Jacksonville or another country.
Why I Created this Project
As the founder of the Laugh at Cancer Support Community, I have created a project called the LACSC Monthly Day of Hope. The initials LACSC stands for the organization, which I founded with my grandfather, who lost his battle to prostrate/lung cancer. This year, on his birthday Oct 28th, I decided to visit the local women’s Gynecological center that saved my life. Thankfully, the head nurse allowed me to give out yellow LiveStrong bands and awareness information.
Let’s Make a Difference
On the way home, I created the LACSC Monthly Day of Hope, but I need your help to make it a successful project. Right now, I am collecting donations of fleece throw blankets, small inspirational figurines, homemade gifts, greeting cards, and Donations (Paypal.com) to keep the project alive. By donating these small gifts, you will help me make a difference and restore hope to many patients who need encouragement now.
How can you help?
Feel free to celebrate LACSC Day of Hope in your own community on the 28th day of the month also. However, be sure to call around to different cancer centers and ask about their gift giving policy. After scheduling your visit, begin gathering up the donations to give away. Also, gather a few greeting cards to give out, in order to inspire and encourage each patient you meet. Additionally, you will meet new friends and restore hope to many patients, who do not have a support system to rely on.
Let's Restore Hope Together!
Personally, I challenge you to get involved and help me encourage each patient that you meet, during this project. Furthermore, we will be restoring hope and inspiring patients, who may not have a support system to lean on. Either way, you choose to help out, you will be letting current patients know that they are special to you. Therefore, let’s work together, in order to make a difference in the lives of families facing cancer in our own communities.
Respectfully yours,
