LOST MY BEAUTIFUL SHEPARDS PLEASE HELP

PLEASE HELP ME I LIVE IN CONYERS ,GA NEAR THE HORSE PARK, MY 2 GERMAN SHEPARDS RAN OFF LAST MON AND HAVE NOT COME HOME ,THEY HAVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE WE HAVE 2 ACRES OF WOODS AND THEY NEVER LEAVE,FOR LONG, I AM HEARTBROKEN ,PLEASE IF YOU HAVE SEEN THEM AROUND OR ANYONE THAT HAS 2 NEW SHEPARDS PLEASE CALL ME,THEY ARE MY BABIES,THEY ARE FATHER AND SON HAD ON RED COLLERS VERY BIG DOGS PUREBRED, ONE HAS A FLOPPY EAR. Hi- I can send them around to animal rescue people in GA if you would like you must be heartbroken. I am hoping you find them soon. I am sure you have checked the shelters and vet hospitals to see if anyone has turned them in? Please let me know and I can send the word out to look for them. Thanks.

Hi Maria,

I sent out the plea last night to GA people in hopes they will keep there eyes open. Did you check all the shelters and vet offices? Is there a SPCA in GA that could help you look for them? I hope they are found soon. I will send them back out today thru email. I hope someone can find them for you. SO sad when they are loved so much.

I just can not imagine I am not in GA I am in ME I hope someone can help find them. There was a response to Barbara about putting them on fido finder just a suggestion but I would put flyers up everywhere also and contact the shelters and vet offices everyday because they may not be there one day then are the next.

If I were you, I would make fliers with the dogs' photos and descriptions, your name and number and pass them out within a 5 mile radius of your house. Go to the schools, supermarkets; anywhere people in your neighborhood congregate. Post them on neighbors' doors, give them to everyone you encounter. Make sure you call the HS and Animal Control to report your dogs missing and give them the information such as license number, etc, so that if someone spots your dogs and calls them, they'll know right away it's your dogs.

Good suggestion(s), Barbara. Really. It really is a hands-on kind of thing- when people actually see a person out there like you suggest, it really tends to make them take it more seriously than if they just read about it.

I take it they were not microchipped (not a criticism at all, just was going to say to call them, of course, AND if you have pet insurance- call them, too- many of the pet insurance companies will help you with a lost pet- maybe in ways that you (or we) might not have thought of or aren't able to do). In any event, I wish you the best of luck in getting them back- you must be devastated and my heart and prayers go out to you.

Thanks, Strega. You do have to jump in there feet first and plaster the neighborhood with fliers/posters, etc. Also, there are sites that for a fee (about $75!) will send dog amber alerts to people about your lost dog. I wonder how effective this really is.

Maria, did you check fidofinder.com for the found dogs? What did the HS and Animal Control advise? If you are interested in the amber alert site, let me know.

I did all the things everyone has told me to do and place ads in local newspaper,i know someone has them i wish they would place an add if they knew how upset we are they would try to find the owners, but there are great dogs so i believe someone will keep them

Maria, did you also call the police and tell them that you believe the dogs were stolen? Do you have an idea who might have them? You also might want to take a ride around your neighborhood and check out some backyards. Also, maybe try recruiting some neighborhood kids to pass out fliers in a large area around your house. Ask them to be on the lookout for your dogs at the houses they visit.

Many years ago, my sister and I lost our dog (we were dumb kids) and we put an ad in the local paper. After two weeks, we got a call from an elderly couple who had our dog. Don't give up. Keep renewing that ad and passing out fliers. Lots of people visit the Post Office. Go to the Post Office and ask if you can put up a poster with your dog's picture, etc next to the window. Just don't stop trying. It might take some time.
