So I came home from a christmas vacation and discovered my cat has fleas!! I have no idea how...he is not an outside cat at all. The only thing I can think of is my sister (who was watching him while I was away) brought them over from her house.
My question is...how do I get rid of them!? Does anyone have a good method for me so I can get rid of the fleas torturing my poor cat and also so they don't come back? I appreciate any help.
thank you guys!

There is a shampoo you can get or you can use Frontline. If there is a Petco or Petsmart by you, you can get it there

Hello, my vet gives "Revelution" for dogs, it's made by Pfizer. How to use- I use an empty needless suringe, cut the tip off of the flee killer, use 4/10 of of 1cc. put on cat just above and between shoulder blades. First and most important use latex gloves, this stuff is a poison.Flea Killer. Usually one application last two months, if strickly inside cat it work a bit longer.
I hopes this help you and your cats flea problem.

If your vet gives it you, why shouldn't use it.Becuase it has dog on the pachage. I've check ingredients on both of the flea poison and they are same. just differants amounts, more for the dog and less on the cat.

Amanda:

What ever you do, do NOT put ANY OVER THE COUNTERproduct on your kitty without speaking to your kitties vet. There have been TOO MANY sick animals/and-or deaths with commercial flea products in the last few months. If necessary, take kitty to the vet for a flea dip!

THEN and this is very, very IMPORTANT! You must WASH and DRY all bedding the Cat has been or is likely to be in/on or exposed to, as there WILL BE FLEA EGGS present which will be hatching in the normal household heat of your home. That goes for your THROW RUGS/THROW PILLOWS etc! INTO YOUR WASHER AND~ DRYER! If your cat was totally infested...she/he will have hosted flea eggs which WILL HATCH in your normal winter heated house.

People often get very frustrated, that after treating for fleas , and their cat is still scratching. It is time consuming and a lot of work but you simply have no choice but to vacuum, wash and dry any potential hiding place for eggs. Good luck! Linda W
