My 8 month old poodle/maltese mix puppy contracted Parvo about 4 weeks or so and SURVIVED!!!! Thanks to God, my husband , and the vet!! My husband gave her 2 shots per day for 3 days and had to administer and IV solution under her skin twice a day. She is doing so good now, it's amazing she had Parvo. We took her to get her Parvo vaccine and the vet was happy and surprised to see that she was well. So yes you do have to vaccinate even if they already had Parvo. 2 Vets have said the same thing to me. So please vaccinate them. It's a horrible death. My brother's puppy a 4 month old Lab/shepard mix did not survive. It was such a wonderfull thing to see our little one running around and jumping around again. My heart goes out to all who have lost pet to Parvo. I lost my little best friend Sparky when I was 11 years old and still remember him as an adult. It's a terrible loss...be strong.
Hey that terrible news to hear your little doggy had parvo... I work in a vets and last week we had a rott come in with but sadly didnt survive But am soo happy yours did...
The dog parvo disease is a very serious viral infection that can affect your dog. It is so powerful that it can affect all of your dogs at the same time. What is worse is the fact that dogs carrying this virus might not recover. Since there is a small chance that your pet will be fully cured of its condition, it is only right that you take the necessary precautions to prevent your dog from acquiring this disease.
