CAN WE PLEASE STOP GETTING GOOD DISCUSSIONS CLOSED? I don't even know why we are here if we cannot discuss things...thats what this site is about. Please stop arguing in these discussions and just discuss, please. I am so frustrated that I just want to throw my arms up and give up and leave. I mean come on

There are just some topics where, by now, we all know other regular members' positions and how likely they are to change their views. No matter which side of the PeTA, Vegetarian, or S/N debates we've had recently you find yourself on, there has to be a point where you just say "the other guy isn't going to change his mind" and realize that continuing the argument isn't accomplishing anything (except maybe frustrating everyone). Spirited debate is one thing...beating your head against a wall is another...

The point I think Bams is making, and I am inclined to agree with, is there is no chance for spirited debate, the topic gets closed and replies deleted and people get fusterated. Thus why I opened a new topic on the same subject, which did not get out of hand, there was healthy discussion and even though one group isn't going to change the other's position I don't feel there is a need to shut down a perfectly good discussion just because I don't agree with some of the contributors...

I have a short temper, honestly. And there's only so much grating on my nerves I can deal with when I see discussion after discussion get run into the ground just because my views on certain animals don't correlate with someone else's. I don't understand why half of the discussions have been closed simply because the creator couldn't keep up with the debate, so left some snide comments and shut it down. There is a ridiculous amount of baiting in almost every conversation.

Yes, there is a ridiculous amount of baiting....to be honest, on both sides....therefore, I am not pointing fingers. To be honest, I never purposely bait. I hate fighting, I've said that before, and I have more drama in my own life enough for everyone, I really don't need to get on here to add more. When I get on the computer, I want to relax and have fun...and to be completly honest, if it doesn't stop, I will end up leaving. I am sure many here want that, and thats fine, but I am tired of looking like the bad guy because of being baited to fight and loosing it because there is only so much one person can handle...and I am tired of the drama. Please, everyone...just relax. Enjoy life, its short.

I don't try to bait, I just ask very sarcastic questions and make little snide remarks here and there. They actually set up traps with their remarks which is very sneaky. And then of course, they run and report anyone who they feel is irritating them at the time...I don't even think I've reported anyone yet on this forum. Not worth the time. Probably should start becoming a MOD groupie.

I was having fun just discussing the topic. Its not about changing people's minds, its about being respectful of other's opinions. I, like the next person, love a good debate, but we need to learn to respect other people's opinions. I thought that Liddy and I were having a great discussion and debate and then wamo, it just went way off topic then it was gone. Im so frustrated, I just don't want to be here anymore. Its just so pointless, you can't discuss anything anymore
