My husband and I live on a HUGE farm, we have a few stray cats; many are skittish and do not like human attention, unless you have food.

Well, late last year a Calico cat, very petite showed up on the farm. Well, I have been looking at her more lately and she looks to be pregnant. She is skittish too, she will walk around you, but does not trust you enough to let her pet her.

I have been bringing her in my laundry room and feeding her away from the other cats hoping to build some time of rapport with her, so she will trust me when she has her babies.

We are unable to fix the other cats or get ahold of them to do so. However, if I could get a hold of her babies, I would try my best to give them homes or take them to a nearby shelter at least.

I was just wondering if anybody had any input into how I can warm her up to me, other than what I am doing.

What about when she has babies? I have insolated shelters outside my house, where I know she sleeps. So I maybe able to help her out if she has the babies there. But I'm not sure.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. She's pretty small, any foods or milk that are good for pregnant cats?

well lavender, i am an expert at this! i have befriended so many cats you won't believe! first, if you are staring at the cat and catch her eye blink then look away. that is a proven way to befriend a cat. if that won't work keep feeding her like that and every day get as close as you can and leave the food in your hand and if she won't come then place the food and leave. then walk past her and see if she stay's or flinches away. if she doesn't flinch away and stays eating try to get her secretly from the back and pet her. (if she is a aggressive cat then don't try the secretly petting her thing) try all of those things if they don't work tell me and maybe i can find more ways. but those things usually work for me.
hope i helped!

Awesome! Thanks for the ideas! I will definitely try the whole eye blink thing, never heard of it but if it helps then, I'm always up to try! I will definitely keep feeding her every day, she needs more weight anyway, I'm sure she has worms like the rest of them.

She's definitely not agressive, she'll let me pet her when she is eating in my laundry room. She's so small, she shivers and I would bring her in the house if I knew I could get her to feel safe enough.

Thanks for the reply!

your welcome! and don't forget, when you catch her eye blink and immediately look away! and when you stare at her if she narrows her eyes look away because that means she feels uneasy and uncomfortable. cats don't like it when you stare at their eyes.
