As most of you all probably already know, Pennsylvania is the puppy mill capital of America. I read an article in People magazine today that basically said the biggest "Slimes" that practice & support this horrible "business" are, believe it or not, the AMISH people. I did'n't know that. They say that somewhere in the bible, I can't remember the exact words, states they are SUPREME to animals & that gives them the right to do this. I'm keeping this in mind if I ever want to buy Amish products, as I have in the past, from those people.
I'm just a guy who loves animals. I wouldn't even know where to start to try to put an end to this "business" that makes the "God fearing Amish people" over $500,000 a year to practice this "SIN". I just want to let the animal activists here, that can really get things done, to know about this if they already didn't.
Who would ever think that the Amish, of all people, would do something like this.

Well, one way to show you are against this is to not buy from Pet Stores, share this knowledge with others you know are getting a dog or cat, maybe putting up signs. I don't know, little things like that.
If enough people do it, our message will get across a little faster. -Shell

I've been out of town lately...but thanks to all the response back on the Amish & their little puppy mill business.
Shell thanks for the info, I never have bought from a pet store but I have gone into them as in an official capacity & made them clean up the cages & put carpet or something on the floors so the pups, kittens, rabbits, etc. will be more comfortable. I wouldn't "fake" it if there's an adult manager but I don't hesitate with the teenage kids that usually work at those places. For the adults, I report the pet stores & managers to the local "animal authorities". I feel I've done my part when I've seen some of them clean up their act or better yet shut down.
Donald I completely agree with you, hiding behind their religion to justify their sins
