i HATE this medication!!!! never again will i use any kind of medication on my dog after using this one! The day i put it on within an hour or so my dog got energe like crazy! and would not stop running around and trying to hind behide and under things! Crying at random times! Scratching him self like crazy! Breathing really hard like he couldn't breath! I didnt know what to do! So i called a 24 Vet and they told me to wash, and rinse him off! i did all that and still nothing! allllll night he did not go to sleep! moving around none stop, crying, and bitting/scratching himself! so the next day i took him to the vet they gave him a shot and some medication to take home. They told me i had to do this for 3 days and they said as soon as i got home i should notice him getting better. Once i got him he was! i thought it was all over. Not really, that night he did the same thing he did the night before. The only way i could calm him down is my scratching him myself. So the next morning i got a call from my sister saying my dog's left leg was not standing right, and he couldn't walk on it, he was like dragging it. So i called the number on the back of the Sergeant box and they got me another vet and told me that i do need to wash him with dish soap which i never knew!? and also to get Vitamin E oli or gel to rub on hes skin, also make him drink chicken brath and alot of water! They said the medication must have gotten in between hes toe's which is making it very hard for him to walk. As soon as we washed him with the dish soap ALLLLL hes fleas came coming down! i will as soon as i get home put the Vitamin E oli on him and keep washing him until all that craps off him! and let everyone if hes doing better! Again if you have bought this stuff already and it did not work call the number on the back and get your money back like i am! I HATE HATE THIS MEDICATION!!!!

I had never liked Sergeant Flea and Tick. Your best bet it to get FRONTLINE PLUS, or ADVANTAGE(You can get them at your vet's or ordered them from the net or an animal magazine). I think of few others have other brand that might work good too. DON'T even use Hartz for that reason either.

Be careful with frontline.8 years ago,I had a bad case of fleas on my kittens and I had to wait till they were 6 mos old to treat them.Anyway,I used frontline and the fleas were gone in 2 days.A few months ago I had some fleas on my current cats and the frontline didn't work even after 3 doses.I used advantage, and the fleas are now gone.I dont know if frontline cut some corners to save cost, but I was really upset that it didn't work this time when it worked so well before. It cost me a lot of money because I have 8 cats and from now on I will only buy advantage.

Love your profile kitty, David. Never had a problem with Frontline before. Have been thinking about changing to advantage in the future. Main reason it could be lesser in cost. I have three dogs and two cats. Runs into money.
