Hello everyone!!!
Some of the following action alerts are a little disturbing but we need to do what we can do to help these animals so please go online and sign the petitions and if you don't want to cry then please don't look at the pictures.

Help animals in Korea

Korea is a country of cruelty to animals. A large number of people in Korea have no trouble accepting the fact that animals are being taken advantage of and mistreated as long as it is done for human purposes.

These poor creatures are born and live until they get slaughtered in the same confined filthy places where no living soul can bear to stand even for a single minute. Furthermore, animals living in such condition are vulnerable to various kinds of deadly viruses and diseases.

Korea is now facing the sky rocketing spread of AI virus among poultry brought about by horrific living environments. And their way of handling this calamity is to bury all those birds in the ground ALIVE.

Korea is also a DOG EATING country. China, Vietnam and Korea are the only three countries left in Asia that allow dogs to be eaten, though consuming dog meat has been somewhat illegal in Korea up till now. But the Korean government is now trying to pass a bill that would legalize dogs to be a part of livestock. If such a thing comes to reality, no dogs in Korea are guaranteed of their safety or protection and, worst of all, THEIR LIVES!

A tense debate over 'dog meat' is prevailing currently. This debate is further fueled by the Korean government trying to pass a bill to legalize butchering dogs (dog as a livestock) only because it believes that there are people who eat dogs.

For dogs that are eventually killed for consumption, if they even have a life, it is a life of sheer misery. We have found that even lost, abandoned and stolen dogs are sacrificed for meat consumption besides ones from dog farms.

Demand for 'dog meat' can increase if the bill is passed. Even cosmetics that contain some part of dog were introduced. People might import dogs that were bred in countries such as Vietnam and China for lower prices. This is a possible scenario that can really happen. And there may be more serious problems beyond Korea.

But there is hope. With a straight and righteous mind, there is nothing we can not accomplish. Animal cruelty recognizes no boundaries.

Dogs are animals that have been tamed by humans over a long time. Dogs are neither wild animals nor livestock. We-the human- are responsible for keeping the long-time relationship and friendship with dogs, the only species tamed by humans. Animal related issues recognize no frontier. Everyone all over the world must act now.
Save dogs in Korea. We believe you can.

Save Dogs in China

The Chinese have eaten dogs for at least 7,000 years. The flesh has been valued for its flavour and protein and for supposed health benefits, which include a belief that it “warms the blood” during winter.

Today dogs are eaten throughout China, with the exception of Hong Kong: dog meat has been illegal here since 1950. It is most commonly eaten in the northeastern and southern provinces. Overall, demand for dog meat would appear to be relatively small. In 2000, around 100,000 tons - equivalent to several million animals – was consumed by China’s 1.3 billion population.

Farmed dogs endure short, cramped, miserable lives. They are usually slaughtered on site and brutal deaths await them. Reportedly, many are tortured or bled out slowly to increase their terror: this results in adrenaline rich meat that, according to folklore, makes the men who eat it more virile.

Please sign the petition to stop the slaughter of these dogs!!! Go to the following link but I remind you to please do not scroll down if you do not want to see the pictures. Just click on the link to the right side that says petition.

Save the Dogs in the Philippines

Despite a national law banning the practice, close to 500 000 dogs are slaughtered and eaten in the Philippines every year. Even though since 1998 it is illegal to consume this meat, the complete lack to enforce this law allows the markets and the restaurants to openly sell live dogs as well as dog meat.

The majority of Filipinos do not consume this meat, but its profitable commerce is growing, especially in the north of the Philippines in and around the region of Baguio City. Here the dogs are treated like vulgar objects. Crammed so tightly into wire cages they cannot move, struggling for every breath in the stifling heat with their mouths tied shut, dogs have their throats cut while still conscious.

Luckily you can make a difference. Canada, like many other nations, have an important commercial relationship with the Philippines. Our Philippines colleagues are putting diplomatic pressure on their government in order to have them act out against the dog meat industry. Act now by sending an email to the ambassador of the Philippines and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Please go to the following link to send a letter to your local Philippines ambassador: http://www.gan.ca/campaigns/philippines+dogs/index.en.html

i just happened across this post and see you have no replys, this seems very much in line with my experiences with my posts on this subject (ive posted a few threads on this issue on this very forum, please look up my topics, only about a dozen to read),
this lack of replys is cos decent people can not bring themselves to confront this issue because of the sheer and utter horror food and fur dogs/cats etc go through in the far east, millions of dogs and cats are skinned alive, boiled alive, some even skinned alive THEN boiled alive.

the far east is responsible for the worst, most obscene cruelty towards animals this planet has ever seen, and its on a vast scale.

decent people everywhere have to confront this issue, despite the fact it will give them nightmares, but its the only way to put pressure on the rancid goverments in the far east.
i know a lot of people are scared to see what goes on in the far east, but this obscene satanic devlish torture has got to stop, and only people like us can help.

Thank you for your reply. I know that most people only see and hear what they want to and that because this isn't taking place here in the USA that people will tend to ignore it but just because this is happening overseas it won't go away. People need to get their heads out of the sand and stand up for these animals. Some of these dogs where once peoples pets that where either stolen or got lost and ended up in so called animal shelters. It is horrible to see these animals in the cages waiting for death- their tails wagging because they trust that the people around them are going to care about them.

It makes me sick to see this. I don't think I could just stand there and not do anything to help them and just because I am not standing there but sitting at my computer doesn't mean I still can't do something to help. All we can do is to try to get the word out there to as many people as possible. I have posted this on several other websites as well and hopefully I can get a little response on them.

Thank you for all your help with this cause. Maybe one day people all over the world will realise that dogs and cats (and other animals as well) are living breathing creatures and deserve to be treated just as we would want to be treated. If it was humans that where being eaten then there would be something done about it FAST. Humans are animals too and the sooner we realize that the less people will be able to ignore this horrible slaughter.

Keep up the good work!!!

Thank you Becky for your help. Please pass this onto all your freinds as well. We need to get the word out. Anything we can do to help these animals is at least a step in the right direction.
I know that an end to this slaughter is a long way off but the more people we can get educated about what is happening the more we can help some of these animals.

I'm in full sympathy with you; but I think you are trying to roll a boulder up a steep hill. I know many from the asian community, and their views on what is food differs significantly from those of most americans. I remember a Thai friend of mine asking when visiting me: "why do you keep livestock in your home?" (he was referring to my dog) My first words were: "Sic him, Snerty!" I think the best we can do is try to influence them to treat their livestock more humanely.

Frankly, I'd be happy if they would just stop poisoning our pet food.

exactly, and this is the nub of the problem, no way are they gonna stop eating every species of animal, inc dogs and cats, that is sick in itself, but its the unremitting and over the top wicked torture that is the main issue to be tackled.

once youve seen the way food and fur dogs/cats are tortured to death in the far east, and the utterly sensless barbarity of their treatment, partic in china, you can never get it out of your head.

ive seen cruelty from all around the world, but the far east is truly shocking in its attitude towards animals, and for some insane reason they seem to hate their food dogs and cats more than any other species, why is this ?, my theory is cos they know the enlightened west generally give dogs/cats the respect they deserve, and their backward societys are unwilling to catch up.

ive already posted this next bit a while ago, but i think its relevant for this thread, it did not get much replys at the time, so ill type it again-----

education is the only way forward, and i dont mean of the chinese, its the youth of the west that need to lift their heads from their reality tv shows and see whats going on in the world.

from my posts with a lot of under 25s on myspace (its main user group) i gather that many of them are utterly ignorant of the situation in the far east, and to be honest you can not really blame them, after all, how many decent people would even dream that animals could be subjected to such unnecessary alien cruelty. They think that everyone likes dogs, after all, they love their intelligent sensitive pet dogs and who could possibly eat them or mistreat them in such ways ?, surely not, they say.

its an uphill battle to get a lot of westerners to confront the far east on this issue, the far east will never change its practices if left to its own will.
The only way forward is to spread the word to the sections of our society that dont normally trouble themselves with the evil and injustices of this world, get their attention away from sports and tv for a few minutes and show them the truly sickening reality of the suffering many animals go through, no human in history as ever undergone such barbaric protracted deaths as these animals endure, to be shot or a similiar quicker death would be a mercy for the millions of food and fur animals in the far east, but alas, a mercy they will not get untill many more westerners put financial pressure on the far east.

a good start for some would be to post on sites like myspace etc, pass around the widely availiable evidence to all they meet, inc local papers/media etc.
for sure, some will lambast you for your ethics, but people like that would never help any cause anyway,no matter what.
but many decent people will be enlightened.
for those wary of viewing horror material, animalsasia.org is one of the few charitys making any kind of impact, support them !.

Darrell,

Maybe we are rolling a bolder up a steep hill but aren't we all doing that everytime we try to help any abused animal?? The abuser never thinks that what they did or are still doing is wrong. There are plenty of people here in America who are still as heartless but because cruelty to animals is considered more morally unjust here then it is in other countrys things like this don't tend to happen here.

America's influence is far wider reaching then any other country's. The youth in these countrys watch our TV shows, listen to our music, and are hugh fans of websites like Myspace and facebook. They are not as stuck in tradition as their parents where. If we can get this out there to them and show them that dogs and cats (and other animals) are beautiful loving creatures that should be treated with respect and love then maybe we have a chance of changing how these animals are looked at in the future.

We need to let them know that America doesn't approve of the slaughter of these animals and that we look down on their countries for doing this. They must know that we look down on them for this as they suspended the sale of dog meat in China during the Olympics.

All that we can do is keep pushing that boulder up the hill. I would rather do what I could do to help then just not do anything at all.

as i suspected, the replys to ur orig post are minimal.

people are too afraid to witness the truly monstrous evil visited upon animals in the far east.

not many people can even bring themselves to look at a youtube vid showing this evil, they are too scared to even know what goes on in the far east, such is the barbarity of the abuse.

as long as this cowardice is prevelant in the west, the animals of the vile far east are doomed to this alien cruelty ad infinitum.

Dog costs more then chicken in these places. It is looked at a kind of delicacy. They even kill the dog slowly to make the meat retain a better taste. They believe that the slower the dog dies the more closer it will take them to their god when they eat it.
And yes there are a lot of places outside of the civilized world. Sometimes these places are only a few blocks away from ones own front door.

No actually I had a friend a couple of years ago who's dog, some of her cats, and a couple of her ferrets went missing. The whole neighborhood that she lived in started having animals dissapper. The local police found the bones in a shallow grave in the backyard of some Korean people who lived down the street. This happened right here in America.

Can you imagine having your family pets eaten??? She had grown up with this dog. The dog was about 12 years old and slept in her bed with her every night. She let the dog out to go to the bathroom one morning and they stole it right out of the backyard while my friend was no more then 10 feet away in the kitchen fixing her breakfast.

These people come into our country all the time with thier beliefs and just because they could go to a local grocery store and buy meat -- they don't. These people don't do it all out of nessecity they do it because they like the kill they like the twisted rush this gives them.

i have to kinda of agree w/ chris on this one.
yes, it's cruel and yes, it's horrible, but some people eat what they can. different people have diff views on what is acceptable to eat. i'm sure some of the non-pig eating countries would have a field day w/ how much pork us americans eat.
what about people who keep cows or pigs as pets? they would say that eating pork is horrible and etc. just b/c most of us keep cats/dogs as pets and not cows/pigs/chickens doesn't mean that other people don't see the cows/pigs/chickens as pets and the cows/pigs as food....
granted, we don't have our cows and pigs in such conditions as the animals in the east are kept, but if it makes the people around the world not starve to death then let them eat whatever they want. also, who has ever been to a slaughter house here in the states? it's just as gross and horrible the way they kill the cows/pigs/chickens as it is the dogs/cats.......

oops, meant "....people don't see the cows/pigs/chickens as pets and the cats/dogs as food...."
long night of studying has killed my brain.....

You don't have to eat meat to live. They make thier choices whether they are poor or not. What ever country they are from they could survive on the what nature gives them freely not on what they chose to take and murder.

And wheter or not the majority or the minority believe in torturing the animals before they eat it- it is still to many people (even if it was only one person)!!!! Most sieral killers believe that the slower they kill thier victum the more power they will gain from the victums soul. Doesn't make that right at all!!!!! People kill out of hatred and apthy not because they have to do it to survive.

You have not right to belong to the ASPCA online community. Slaughter is inhumane, barbaric and cruel. I feel very sorry for anyone who lacks compassion as you seem to .Please visit http://www.equinedestiny.com and http://www.savingamericashorses.or
