why do dogs smell food before taking it? do they think we are trying to poison them lol

And it seems your foot is always finding the land mines. I have to landmark the poodles poop, as in "OK it's 2 feet out from the bush", and I still can't find it...till my foot does!

My boy will not only sniff his food, he won't take anything from anyone unless mommy or daddy says it's o.k. I take him with me to the drug store when I pick up my medicine. The pharmacists keep suckers for the kids, and dog treats for any puppies that come through the drive through. He has been there many times, but will not eat the doggie biscuit until I say it's o.k. that he can have it, and he knows these girls very well.
