I really hope you win your case shannon. I couldnt imagine losing my baby. I have nothing really except my family and my dog so I would lose my job, house, anything before i would give up my baby but i know thats easier said than done i really hope things work out for you. My prayers are with you and your dog

Hi Everyone there is a bsl proposed in th. The petition itself explains it more than I can, please sign it if you dont think pets who happen to be pittys should be euthanized for their looks and for the 3 dogbite fatalities in 43 years that are caused by other breeds and their irresponsible owners and unsupervised kids.Thanks,Sabrinaps it may be better for Ashley etc to try to contact everyone now for pitty awarenessday when it actually is this year the week before oct instead of now and ofcourse after all her stuff is done instead of trying to do it beg of year. I know a lot of you are interested in knowng this and I guess just like everyone else Dale bailed on us. Maybe we can still use his info and advertise it for this year on blessthebully and if he sees how many hits he gets he may change his mind again. For now please sign petition below and add comments.

I need help! The city of Des Moines, Iowa has declared my pitbull a dangerous animal. I have appealed this judgement and must now appear before the city council...but I can't plead my case, I can't introduce any new evidence which includes all the letters I've collected from my community about what a great dog Mojo is. So my plan is e-mails and mailing pictures and letters to the city council members before the meeting. Thank goodness it's my civic right to contact them directly. I would appritiate any advice or letters I could send off to them.

I have owned my pit since he was 4 weeks old, he is now 5 years now. My neighbors small dog attacked him and my dog bite him, a warning bite to say the least. No significant injuries, no stitches, and neither dog was on a leash (it happened in the hallway of my apartment) So now they want to destroy my dog because my neighbors LIED and said the bite was unprovoked.

I am working on getting an attorney but right now I'm writing, making phone calls, e-mailing, and begging for help.
Please...my dog's life depends on these people to make the RIGHT desicion. PLEASE HELP ME SHED THE LIGHT

Stray Pit Bull Saves Woman, Child from Attacker



PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The wandering 65-pound Pit Bull mix might have seemed menacing to some passerby, but one woman will always remember him as her "guardian angel."

The dog, which authorities think is lost and not a stray, successfully thwarted a robbery attack on a mother and her 2-year-old son, who were held at knifepoint Monday afternoon.

The Florida woman, who has been identified by authorities simply as "Angela," was leaving a playground with her toddler son in Port Charlotte when a man approached her in the parking lot with a knife and told her not to make any noise or sudden movements.

Angela didn't have to do either to protect herself and her child -- a dog mysteriously ran to the scene and charged the man, who quickly fled.

"I don't think the dog physically attacked the man, but he went at him and was showing signs of aggression, just baring his teeth and growling and barking. It was clear he was trying to defend this woman," Animal Control Lt. Brian Jones told Pet Pulse.

"I don't know what this man's intentions were, but it is very possible this dog saved her life."

The exceptional part of the story, Jones said, is that the dog had never met or even seen the people it quickly jumped to defend.

"You hear about family dogs protecting their owners, but this dog had nothing to do with this woman or her kid," Jones said. "He was like her guardian angel."

After the alleged thief ran away, Angela quickly placed her son, Jordan, in the car and tried to drive off. Before she could, though, the dog jumped into her backseat, waiting with her for the police and animal control officers to arrive at the scene.

The dog was transported to a local shelter and if his owners don't step forward within five days, Jones said, Angela and her family plan to adopt the savior she named "Angel."

Animal control officers and shelter workers believe Angel is lost, and not a stray, because of his good health, sturdy weight and mild temperament.

"It's funny, that someone's irresponsibility could have saved someone's life," Jones said of Angel's possible owners.

For Angela, it doesn't matter where the dog came from, just that he was there when she needed him most.

"I don't know what his [the thief's] intentions were -- I don't know why he did it, but I'm glad that -- we call him Angel -- I'm glad that Angel showed up because I don't know what would have happened," Angela told NBC2 News.

Or, better yet, gather your PB-lovin' Pack and contact your local vets, shelters, groomers, pet supplies stores, etc. about offering PB educational material for their customers. Help turn their fear into curiosity!

Hello fellow bully lovers!! I am the mom of a "bad dog" myself. I have a HUGE rottie that loves everyone and everything and the idea of not being able to have him makes me sick! I also have had many friends with Pits and I've never seen a mean one. Why can't we ban stupid people who fight dogs or make them mean? That is a better solution! I'm glad to know there are people like us who love our pets and are responsible owners who make their dogs what they are ment to be LOVING PETS!!!

Hello fellow pit lovers! My name is Christine, I am a Pit Rescue volunteer. I actively fight BSL and like to educate people on the wonderful qualities of the breed. My family has had Pit Bulls for 34 years and we have found them to be nothing less than the most wonderful, loving breed on this planet!

I think it is horrible that all these people want to get rid of these dogs, because they dont know these dogs, they dont understand these dogs, all they go by os what they were taught, what they heard from other people, what they saw. They dont go by the truth. They go by the daily lies that those idiots out there in the world talk about. Once they own one of the dogs on the list below they could maybe change their minds about the dogs. But they wont. They wont own one, touch one, or anything. The only thing they will do is kill them, torture them. It disgusts me. I hate those people. They fear these beautiful animals because of the lies that these people have been taught. These people need to open their eyes and realize that all the pain these dogs go through because of their "viciousness" is because of the owners, the people that treat them like crap. All they are trying to do is make their owners happy. Thats what all these dogs live for, is trying to get the love they deserve from the bad owners that dont see their true value. They want to make them happy so bad, that they will do anything, whether it means fighting and risking their own lives, to get appreciated. They will do anything. And people dont realize this. All they see these breeds as are mean, vicious, beasts. This is a lie. These dogs can be as gentle as house cats when they are given the love they deserve. The appreciation, the confidence they deserve. I hope that one day soon all the horrible people out their will realize the wrong they have done. Pass this on to anyone you can, maybe it will change the opions on some of the stupid people put there.
