So, if there is anyone there that still looks here from time to time, I have recently gone down to my local shelter and applied as volunteer status, and it is very rewarding. I might be able to get on there full-time once I get certified, and if I am unable to, I will still get a letter of reference for when I begin to apply at the vet offices- after I get certified. So, it is REALLY a win-win situation for EVERYONE! And I still have an 85% average!

Hello, I am new to this, but am just going to come right out and start. I am currently enrolled for veterinary assistant, and have an 85 % avrage on all of my exams. I live in Idaho, and am not sure exactly how to go about looking for work. My church will pay for a business partnership from one to three months, and have put an application in to almost everywhere. Any advese or tips?

one day in the future i want to start a animal shelter with a strict no put down policy. only if theyre dieing or suffering and are uncureable would i put the animal down. i have many things that i need, land, money, education, and experience. but this is what i want to do with my life. when im driving down the street and i see a dog thats all skin and bones or a lost hunting dog i just cant help but to cry. i know this sort of thing is needed, but i need more advice from people with experience in this sort of thing to help me. if you have advice, please let me hear it, i need it!

I've wanted to begin an animal shelter here for awhile now. We have one, but it totally sucks. Right now ALL of the animals they have are in foster care because they don't actually have a shelter. Even though they've been around since 2005! So many people in this area just take unwanted animals out and drop them off somewhere, or shoot strays if they come around. I believe if they had some place, a reliable place, to drop animals off at then they would.

Tracy, don't give up! If they need them, you should try. And if it's possible, you could start an animal refuge or something like that.

Hi, I live in a rural area of Missouri and I'm 42 years old. I would love to become an Animal Humane officer but, don't have a clue on where to begin. Should I even try because of my age? The area I live in needs Humane Officers and they really need a stray animal rescue or maybe another Humane Society here. Any ideas?

I live in Indiana and I am interested in working with animals as well. The only experience is with my personal animals.

Well, when I get my license I plan on volenteering in the vet to take care of the little animal and also (with the help of my boyfriend) make a site to help find homes for the animals in the pound so they won't be put to sleep

DiAnn thank you for the kind words. I'm sure that I am not speaking for only myself when I say that it is often hard to remember those memories when you are hurting, it seems like it makes the pain even more real but it is necessary. Our loved ones…

I'm not telling you what to eat, just that I do not encourage the cruel treatment of factory animals, the way that they are transported nor the way that they are killed. If you believe that the burger that you eat is in anyway moral, then go ahead,…
