My mother loves to spray Lysol disinfectant in the air whenever there are any bathroom functions in the house (her, me, the dogs...). She sprays it quite a bit and it tastes horrible and singes my nose. I'm sure it would do that to a dog too right? She has a Miniature Schnauzer and I have a German Shepherd, and the Schnauzer has been exposed to this stuff even at close range almost weekly for 8 years until recently. He used to have gas from a poor diet of ProPlan (now gone!) and every time he passed gas, she would spray near his rear end because it smelled. Could he get cancer from this? I got my mother to cut down on the usage 90%, but I worry that the Schnauzer could already have permanent damage in his lungs or liver. Both dogs are very healthy and energetic otherwise.
