I would never buy a cat or dog from a store there are plenty of places to adopt from. I didn't even realize that petland sold dogs i stopped shopping there after i bought some sick birds from them. Although they did sell me the medication after to help them get better one of them did die. why were they selling sick birds from the get go?

I did notice all the dogs were completely lethargic, almost like drugged--why is that? What can I do???

I need more people joining and being active active on this group, I will still keep it up and running for educational purposes but I would like to see some more people interacting on this group.

More than 300 dogs rescued from puppy mill. This isn't super far from where I live! This is so sad, but I'm just so thankful that authorities were made aware & were able to take action & save these dogs!

On another note, I worked at Petland at the Huntington, West Virginia mall when I was in my early 20's. I'm in my 30's now. I know for a FACT that Petland does indeed get many of their puppies from puppy mills. That's when I first learned what a puppy mill was. I also know for a fact that they do NOT give all their puppies all their shots & sometimes none at all. However, they will create fake cards that show customers they've had their shots & sell puppies that have hidden ailments due to being raised in puppy mills & sell them for hundreds! Then a family, possibly w/ kids, gets attached to the animals only for them to become sick or die. I quit my job there because I found out more, plus I went on vacation for one week. Prior to that I was working in the kennel & there was a sick English Springer Spaniel. I returned after one week to find the dog in a cage he couldn't even sit up straight in & he was sitting in several inches of feces & urine. The wound on his neck had not been cleansed since I left, it had maggots on it!! His medicine bottle had zero pills missing, no one had given him his medicine while I was gone! I quit & called every local news, radio station, police & human society. That was one of the saddest things I have ever seen. Petland should be closed down FOREVER!
