Ok so my cat, Pennelopey, had a foamy mouth this morning. I immediately thought rabies, but she didn't act sick. She opened her mouth like she had a bad taste in it. I'm thinking, I don't know, trauma, dehydration, hairball. She "supposedly" was on the roof. I never saw her up there, but anyways. She won't drink any water and I don't know how to help her. I am only a teenager, so I can't take her to the vet! Please, any advice?

Ok, well you can take her to the vet as long as you have the money. If she was on the roof then it is a possibility that she got into something. Another possibility would be a bee sting. Check to make sure there is no swelling in her mouth. Tell me all of the symptoms, is she able to walk around, is she panting or breathing heavy so on and so forth. On the other hand she could have just eaten something she thought would be tasty and turned out not to be tasty cats will foam at the mouth and open it when they get something they don't like in their mouth.

Tracey is right. Also why can't you take her if she needs to go?? Can't your parents help out on this???

I agree with Tracy as I had a similar situation with one of my cats. She licked up a tiny green
coloured loose thread from a cheaply made towel made in China, and began frothing in the
mouth. I rushed her to the vet and he could find nothing wrong When we came home she
started to cough the little green thread up. This was the reason she frothed, then stopped
when she expelled the thread.

Doreen, glad she coughed that up.

Well she stopped and was fine. She's likes to lick people for some reason so she probably licked me and didn't like the taste. She's been fine since. Thank you for the help though!

I had no issue initially, and if any one of those people asked me to help them with saving an animal I would still do it in a heartbeat, because that is the only thing which matters. However I cannot speak and to quote you for the other "side." Thi…
