I am a Jew but I feel the basic understanding is the same. G-d created Kosher butchering to be a respectful act towards animals, to kill them quickly and with little pain. In that, I believe that G-d created souls for animals, otherwise, why would we have to show so much respect when killing them for food?

Hi! I joined this group because I am an animal lover AND a born again Christian. I firmly believe that God meant animals too when He commanded "Love one another". I am so upset when I see others treating animals badly. I don't understand people who leave a dog outside on a chain. I have 2 dogs that live in the house with me... they have so much personality. It is clear that they have emotions and feelings.

My lab-mix, Suzie, woke me up a few minutes after 3am to go potty, so I bundled up and out we went, Suzie, Zeke & me. As we were on our way back, unbeknown to me, they spied the "Stray". The "Stray" is a chow mix that makes the rounds periodically from this complex to another one across the street. everybody feeds him, including me. AND, he's one of the few dogs my Zeke doesn't try to eat on sight. Zeke's getting cranky in his old age.

Anywho, back to my story. My fur faces spied him and it was pandemonium -Zeke went one way around me, Suzie the other. I managed to hang on to Suzie, but Zeke was off like a shot.

Deciding it was unless to try to catch him with Suzie going insane, (she's a tank and even with the "Gentle Leader" on her she tries to pull my arms out of socket), I came back to the apartment to put her up and then go after Zeke. As I started out, Suzie squeezed through and was off, running full throttle. Oh, joy!

She finally ran herself out about 30 minutes later and back we came to the apartment. I checked my sugar, got a bottle of coke and threw her a piece of chicken to keep her occupied as I slipped out the door. Right before I left, I simply prayed, "Father, I'm in trouble. Please help me"

As I walked, I repeatedly asked God to show me the way - and He did! Each turn, God pointed me in the right direction. I finally caught sight of Zeke & the stray in a field across from the complex. Of course, they took off again, but at least they came back into the complex. I finally spotted the stray again - sans Zeke. Once more God sent me in the right direction and I found our goofball, once again at the front of the complex.

After he finished watering a bush, he came right to me and received a nice piece of chicken for being such a good dog! We headed home and I gave him time to smell a few more bushed as we went. He repeatedly nuzzled me - I think he was glad I found him!

This had happened once before when I was visiting Bob & Gail at their home in the country. Zeke was gone for 8 hours before Bob found him, so I know that without God's help, I wouldn't have gotten to him before he was stolen or hit by a car. Zeke's beautiful, but not the sharpest pencil in the box.

After thanking our Father, I stayed up and wrote Jeff about the amazing thing God had done for me - it was after 5 and I take a shot at 6, so why bother climbing back into my now cold bed?

I'm still blown away. Our Father is so awesome and truly takes care of us when we call on him. Wow! God has revealed much to me in a very short time, but this was... WOW! So COOL! WOW! I'll be on cloud nine for a while about this!

Already have our Christmas decorations up - Jeff hung the most of the lights! Isn't he great?

THANK YOU FOR STARTING THIS GROUP.OTHER PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT HERE WHO REALLY AND TRULY ARE ANIMAL LOVERS AND WANT NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR THEM
MEDICALLY, PHYSICALLY. EMOTIONALY. AND SPIRITUALY SOME PEOPLE I KNOW TELL ME A DOG IS A DOG OR A CAT IS A CAT AND THAT THEY SHOULN'T BE PLACED HIGHER THAN US HUMAN BEINGS.
BUT I THIN IT'S A LOT OF C . THEY HAVE FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS JUST LIKE US.
MAY GOD BLESS OUR ANIMALS AND GUIDE THEM AND PROTECT THEM. AND MAY HE SUPPLY THE OWNER WITH LOTS OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE SO THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO CARE FOR THEIR FOUR-LEGGED COMPANIONS.
