an older dog sits in his concrete kennel. He has blankets, but it is still cold. The volunteer walks by and gives him a treat and a pat on his head. This is his Christmas present. He longs for the times of last Christmas, vaguely remembering the tree, the kids, the wrapped bone. He sighs as he lays back down on the cold concrete, unwanted with bones aching.
your cat lays in front of the fire, purring. she looks back and observes as her family happily opens gifts. She is aware of the catnip she will be recieving as a gift later.
The cat sits in a crate, in pain. She is cold, and sore from the attack from the stray dog earlier in the week. She sees her bowl of food, the cheapest the rescue can get on a low budget, but she is not hungry. She can accutely hear all the dogs barking in the background.
Your horse rides with his person on his back, galloping through the snow. he runs with pride, and with pleaure, he has just recieved the best treat!
the horse at the rescue lays on the cold ground, unable to stand. He is too weak to, from months of starvation and neglect. His ribs show through with every breath he takes. This once beautiful creature is now rescued, and in severe pain.
