Okay now we all hear about German shepherds being heroes being police dogs, or search and rescue dogs...But I would like to take a second to tell you all about Zieke. Zieke is my 11 month old German shepherd dog. I love him to pieces. Let me tell you why
I was in the military for three years...then i got Multiple sclerosis and was medically retired. I was so lonely and sad...not to mention having problems with stability...so i adopted a german shepherd in hopes of training him as my assistance dog. Zieke is so smart...he knows how to open doors and does fun things like "rollover"
Moreover, i wouldn't get up in the morning if it wasn't for this pooch putting his cold puppy nose on my face telling me he was hungry. He keeps me alive and walking, because I have to take him for walks everyday. He nudges me reassuringly when he knows i am tired. And best of all, he licks away all my tears until the sadness turns into laughter. I don't know what i would do without my GSD...
I think the gsd's have the best personality. We have had 3 and yes they can turn tears of sadness into tears of joy. My little Akey make me laugh all the time with his big paws, hugs and full face kisses. I'm glad that your Zieke has brought you so much joy.
That is very true about shepherds..... Rose comes to ma bed each moring time wake up..... her wet nose and they can read your mind------Shepherds Rule :)
God bless you both. I love the Breed and they can do anything you teach them as well as being the most loyal along with the rough collie ever. , Feel better and he will keep you smiling. Big hugs, bobbie

Claire has quite a bit of evidence as well.. nice of…
i totally agree that all dogs, whatever the breed, should be on a leash. i had a german shepard for 13 years and he was a gentle giant and very well trained. i had a pure pitbull for 10 years and she also was a gentle, sweet dog. i now have a pitbul…
desiree,if thats what you believe you are a fool.any dog can turn and snap at any given second.belles does not hate pits but she is correct.on the leash and totally in control, that is where all dogs should be weather it be a chahuahua or a ridgeback.

Hi MWS...thank you for your response to my question...and for your Christmas wishes. I had a lovely Christmas and hope you did, too. It sounds like you are a vet or vet tech and I am grateful for your response. I agree with you that the greater good…
