It looks like a mix between a cavalier king charles spaniel and a springer spaniel. I have never heard of the Carolina dog. It looks very harmonious in build how tall is she in shoulder height what is the temprament like?. sincerly Lisbeth and the lads in Denmark.
Well, sometimes she is amazingly sweet. She shares her toys and even gave up her treat to her "daddy" dog, my sister's basset hound named Mugsy, when she saw that he didn't have a treat then asked me for another. She'll sit in my lap and give me kisses then when she doesn't want to do something there's no making her do it. Right now, we got her back last week from being spayed and she's not wanting to eat much and has a cough that has got me worried because she stayed over night at the vet. I'm hoping it's not KC.
I have never heard of a Carolina dog, but I live in carolina and a neighbor of mine a few years ago was telling me about another dog that he called a mountain fiest. I have never heard of them either but who Knows. I think your dog is very cute no matter what she is.
How old is she?
The tail is a distinguishing characteristic of carolina dogs. It should be hook-shaped and extend over their back when they are happy, and when they are scared or sad it will curl under their body up to their stomach. You can always tell your dog's mood because the tail will give it away.
We adopted a carolina dog last November. She is an absolutely wonderful dog, very playful, and just a sweet personality.
They are still a wild dog, and exhibit a lot of "primitive" characteristics. One thing that you will notice with your dog is their "pack" mentality. They will want to be around you and your family at all times, and will be most comfortable when her entire pack is present. If you get them at a young enough age, this pack can include pretty much any animal (my carolina dog loves my cat, and my sisters cats as well). I don't know how you feel about dogs in bed, but as I stated before, your dog wants to be around its pack, and will be more than happy to share your bed with you. Mine won't leave my bed until I wake up, sometimes she tries to rouse me out of bed in the morning on the weekends when she wants to get up and get moving, but if I don't wake up she goes back to sleep.
Also because of her wild roots, keep in mind that a walk a day is not enough exercise. These dogs absolutely love to run, and if there is a off-leash dog park or a fenced in area that you can take him/her, you will have one happy carolina dog. They have a high-prey instinct and unless you are confident in your dog's recall (having them come back to you when you call, even when distracted), do not let them off leash or they will chase down rabbits/squirrels etc.
Oh yes, this is Leah to a tee. she loves my cats. I rescued her when she was about 3 months old. so she's about 10 months old now. She loves to run. She loves all her people. She will share her treats with my sisters basset hounds. She loves to sit on me when I'm sitting in my chair and she loves to play tug of war with her toys. She tries to bury her food and her poop. I do have a problem with her eating. I sometimes have to sit down and spoon feed her or she won't eat. I feed her pedigree puppy food with the pedigree wet puppy food with peas or string beans, chicken, she hates carrots, she'll spit those out. Ha ha ha.
I have owned an American Dingo/Carolina dog, Aki, for almost two years now. I found him as a stray with no collar/microchip and on the verge of starvation. After he was unclaimed for the required amount of time at the pound I adopted him, and he has been A WONDERFUL DOG! If you haven't found them already, here are a couple of sites with some good info about your new companions breed, www.dogbreedinfo.com/caralinadog.htm www.carolinadogs.com
Enjoy!
Sure looks like a Carolina Dog to me. You will never find a more devoted addition to your family. I thought mine (GiGi) was some sort of rare and magnificent dog, which she is, but every CD/AD owner says the same about their pet. Carolinas are extremely pack oriented (family) and have a strong desire to please. They can be a little wary and uncomfortable with other people so it helps a lot to socialize them while they are young. They are beautiful, clean and intelligent animals......... that intelligence is paired with a wily resourcefulness so bear in mind your Carolina will likely observe you and try to perform functions you do which can be dangeous when they figure out how to open doors or gates. I don't know what is up with those paws but they use them almost like hands and along with their snout they can pull off something you wouldn't expect a dog to do. They are an ancient breed and the result of natural selection, unlike most dogs who are the result of humans breeding this dog and that dog together to get a certain result. You have an incredible addition to your life in that cute pup Elizabeth, enjoy and prepare to be amazed!!
This is how this stinky flower gets polinated. A strange way of surviving it kind of reminds me of something oh yes vultures they flock where a carcas of an animal lies maybe miss stinky is atracted to that as well. I think a lovely cup of tea will…
