It`s been dubbed "Francis". It`s so young and so squirmy that we haven`t determined sex yet,so "Francis",if a boy it`s Frankie,if a girl it`s Frannie! I did finally get it cleaned up,it`s a little fuzzy devil!

I just adopted a little orphan kitten about 5wks old. Some neighbors found it alone and sick(little ringworm on the tail and a runny nose). Fed it up and doctored its ills. I think it`ll be a good`n.

Dear Mahtab

Anything is possible with the care and love.x

Oh Lisa big *Hugs & Kisses* to you all, at least you did you best and that little kitten didn't die alone.

I see everyday only too well, what these poor animals go through at our Cat Sanctuary and I sometimes feel I could be done for murder if I ever caught the scumbags that did these things to them

I found a kitty 2 days ago,He has necroses in his mouth. He is in the pet hospital now. Some of them have not hope , but there are some ones that believe he will become better. God knows.

Not so Happy Ending: I just spoke with the Vet and the little kitten did not make it through the night. That is pretty painful. I tried at least. That makes me so sad and makes me think for every one sick or helpless animal in need or our help that I see, there are how many more out there that I don't see. I wish I could help them all.

Not sure if this is a Happy Ending yet or not : Little Sick Kitten

Yesterday my daughter, mom, aunt and myself had went to my uncles house to ride horses.
I love animals and always have. Since I was a kid I was not able to turn a sick animals away. I have take things as little as bats to the wildlife rehab center. People laugh and make fun of me, but I cant help it.

Anyway, we are at my uncles house and he has a barn so of course there are going to be cats. I did not see any big cats, just kittens.
They are wild kittens but they were hungry. They do not feed them ----- which make me sad and angry, so I went to the house and got hot dogs and pork. I took the food back to the barn and the 2 kittens that I seen were gone. Now, I walk in to the barn to see a kitten throwing up. She did not run from me and she looked a little disfigured.
I walked over to her and layed the food down and she ate it up so fast. The more that I looked..I could tell that there was something wrong with her back end. I wasnt sure if she was hit by a car, stepped on by a horse or what.
After she was done eating, I picked her up and looked. My god it was awful. Her rectum was inside out. She looked constipated. I knew whatever was wrong was going to kill her.
I walked back up to my uncles house and got a tote to put her in with my coat and some water.
When I picked her she cried so loud. I knew she was in pain.
The swelling was so bad on this kitten that her little back legs are disfigured and she cant move them.

I called my husband crying, I couldn't just walk away and let the kitten go. I couldnt. He was upset b/c our house is small and my cats are different with others. They dont adjust to change well.
I told him that I was taking the cat to the vet in the morning and I just wanted to get her better, Im not keeping her.
I think he knows better.

This is about 7:30 pm and the kitten looks to be getting lethargic and eyes are hazy. I called my vet and explained what was going on. I told her that I didnt think that the kitten was going to live through the night. She told me to bring her in. I drove over and hour from my uncles with my 3 year old, mom and sick kitty.
When I got her there, the vet was not happy.
She said that it is constipation and she was very sick from it.
They also found maggots on her anus from the wound, ticks on her and flea infestation.
She is very anemic and dehydrated.
They tested her for Feline Lukemia. Negative result on that thank god.
From this point the vet said that she could not be sure that the kitty would make it through the night there, but there was no way that she was going to make it another night like that without me taking her there.
They took care of the fleas, ticks maggots and worms.
She is hooked up with an IV and they are giving her an enema.
I left the vets office around 10:00pm last night and they told me that they would call in the morning.
I have not heard anything yet, but am still waiting.
As far as my husband is concerned, he thinks that the kitten is not staying here if she makes it.
If this little angel pulls through, she has a new home here with me.
Through all of the pain that she was in and never having human contact before, when she was examined the vet said that she was purring.
Now if that isn't love and appreciation Im not sure what is.

ASPCA Happy Tails: Stray Cat Strut

Working at the ASPCA, it’s a given that your job rarely ends when you leave the office for the day. This truism recently hit home for Bronx resident and ASPCA Department Coordinator Veronica Rodriguez. Earlier this summer, Veronica was walking toward the building where she lives when she noticed some kids throwing rocks. As she got closer, she saw a small injured cat huddling in a corner.

“I immediately told the kids to stop, and not surprisingly, they started saying terrible things back to me,” Veronica explains. “To make them stop, I sat on the sidewalk in front of the cat. He was still very scared and wouldn’t let me touch him or even go near him. I sat there for a half an hour, and then suddenly, he climbed into my lap. That was the green light for me to bring him to the ASPCA!”

Named Josh by the medical staff, the two-year-old stray passed his medical exam and behavior assessment with flying colors. “He stole the hearts of everyone on the third floor, where we set up his crate when he first arrived,” says Gail Buchwald, ASPCA Senior Vice President. “Even right after he got here, he was rolling on his back and ‘making biscuits’ in the air whenever anyone stopped to talk to him.”

The staff could hardly contain their enthusiasm for sweet, loving Josh. In fact, Veronica was telling her story to other team members, when a potential adopter overheard her and asked to meet this special kitty who’d captured the hearts and minds of so many.

“We went into the socialization room and sat down on the floor, and Josh immediately head butted the adopter’s daughter—it was love at first sight!” enthuses Veronica. “The adopter said, ‘He’s coming home with us—that’s it, he’s mine!’”

The rest is history: Josh’s new family renamed him Poppy Seed, and thanks to the quick thinking and compassion of an ASPCA team member, a lucky cat now has a loving home.
