Roo is my seizure alert dog and she was playing last night in the yard with Dad and is now paralized. after a huge expense last night and after spending our emergency savings on a complicated spay which caused post surgery bleeding I have nothing left to pay for roos care. She is at a clinic that does canine spine manipulation to put everything back into place. this is her best option and most cost effective one. but still not cheap when the funds are gone.

I know times are tough which makes giving rougher but if you have a spare dollar or two you could pay to her vet that would be wonderful. Please make payment directly to...

the Animal Wellness center of Buffalo Valley
201 Industrial Drive #1
Mondovi, WI 54755

For Roo the nearly 4 yr old black lab that came in paralized.

Don't know what the bill was total today but we know about $100 for today for Roo and each day she is there through monday at least is $60 a day and further manipulations until she regains a wobble or better. already after one session she went from being in a great deal of pain and not sleeping since last night to urrinationg for the first time in nearly 24 hours, and resting comfortably on the bed. She and I are a team that has been cut short too soon at nearly 4 years of age. Dispite her pain last night she was still very concerned for me.

I thank you in advance for your help and consideration to donate to roo's care.

Hello Communtiy,
I joined you because I am looking for a new loving home for my 14 months old Pointerlady.
Unfortunately of the economical circumstances I have to go back to work full-time. That means our dog has to stay alone for nine hours every day - and we don't want this to happen. Because - as a Pointerlady she is a high energetic dog and needs a lot of exercise.

This is why we are looking for a new "active" home with more time to fulfill her needs.
What you should know about our dog:

Of course she is fully housebroken and behaves good at home. If she needs to go to the bathroom she just goes to the door.

Our dog is a curious girl of 14 month.
She is great with everybody – humans and dogs. But as mentioned before - she needs a lot of exercise. I walk her 2 hours every day. She is also good as a jogging or biking partner - she runs perfectly beside a bike. But a fenced yard is not enough exercise!
If she gets her exercise she is the perfect “Couch-Potato” at home – lies down on her blanket and sleeps most of the time.
She is fully-grown and her actual size is 2 feet and weights 50 pounds. Pointers are really athletic – therefore she is also very strong. If the new family have kids I would recommend that they should be older than 12 years. She loves to play with all kids but because of her size she is a tough play buddy. Yet she never shows any kind of aggression.

She also attended obedience training and could do all basic commands – she comes with a certificate from the Northern Illinois Dog Club. If you need any references we could provide you with the information of our trainer.

Naturally she is up to date with all her vaccinations – you will get all her medical records. She is neutered as well.

If you get her she is ready to move in with all her stuff – leashes, collars, blankets, food, dishes, toys, etc.

We really want her in a loving family that gives her the exercise she needs. Our main issue is her best. Therefore we are asking only for a small "relocation fee" - to filter the serious interests.

You can have a look at her on: http://community.webshots.com/user/Applebee09

We could also stay in contact and could take her for weekends or vacations if there is a need.
We are from the Chicago-Area.

So, I hope that is all the information you need and you are going to help us to find her a new family. If you need any more information do not hesitate to contact me.

If somebody is interested please contact us by phone or email.

I wish you a pleasent weekend.

American Animal Hospital Association
http://www.aahahelpingpets.org/home/
"The heartbreak happens all too often ? a pet owner is unable to
afford treatment and their sick or injured companion animal pays the
price. If the owner is elderly, disabled or on a fixed income, the
cost of care may be too much of a stretch for their pocketbook.
Perhaps they have been victimized by crime, property loss or a job
layoff and are experiencing a temporary financial hardship ? making it
too difficult to afford pet care. And some animals, brought to clinics
by Good Samaritans, don't have an owner to pay for treatment. Whatever
the situation, the fact remains the same: When sick or injured animals
are unable to receive veterinary care, they suffer. Through the AAHA
Helping Pets Fund, veterinary care is possible for sick or injured
pets even if they have been abandoned or if their owner is
experiencing financial hardship."

Angels 4 Animals
http://www.Angels4Animals.org
"Angels4Animals, a non-profit organization and a program of Inner
Voice Community Services, has a mission to serve as the guardian
angel of animals whose caretakers find themselves in difficult
financial situations. At Angels4Animals we believe that animal owners
should not have to say goodbye to the animals that they love. Our
work is accomplished in conjunction with veterinary clinics across
the country, eager to assist as many animals, and their owners, as
possible. Our services range from financial aid to complete treatment
to those pets and pet owners in need."

Care Credit
http://www.carecredit.com
A credit card company for health care, including veterinary care.
"CareCredit, the leader in patient/client financing, has helped more
than 3 million patients/clients get the treatment or procedures they
needed and wanted. With a comprehensive range of plan options, for
treatment or procedure fees from $1 to over $25,000, we offer a plan
and a low monthly payment to fit comfortably into almost every
budget."

Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance (FVEAP)
http://www.fveap.org/sys-tmpl/door/
"The NEED & The HELP: Seniors, People with disabilities, People who
have lost their job, Good Samaritans who rescue a cat or kitten - any
of these folks may need financial assistance to save a beloved
companion."

The Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program is a nonprofit 501
(c)(3) organization that provides financial assistance to cat and
kitten guardians who are unable to afford veterinary services to save
their companions when life-threatening illness or injury strikes.

Help-A-Pet
http://www.help-a-pet.org/home.html
"Our efforts focus on serving the elderly, the disabled, and the
working poor. For lonely seniors, physically/mentally challenged
individuals and children of working parents, pets represent much more
than a diversion."

The Pet Fund
http://thepetfund.com/
"The Pet Fund is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit association that
provides financial assistance to owners of domestic animals who need
urgent veterinary care. Often animals are put down or suffer
needlessly because their owners cannot afford expensive surgery or
emergency vet visits. Companion animal owners must often make the
difficult decision to put an animal down or neglect urgent medical
needs because of the costs involved. The purpose of the Pet Fund is
to work towards a future where decisions about companion animal
medical care need never be made on the basis of cost."

UK Assistance with Veterinary Bills
http://www.petloversonline.co.uk/financial.htm
"Most of us can cope with the financial commitment involved in the
day to day care of our pets. However, how many of us come out in a
cold sweat when our pet is ill or injured and we know we have to take
it to the vet? Most of us are fortunate enough to be able to afford
it but, some of us who love our animals dearly cannot. Unfortunately
we do not have a PDSA or a RSPCA Centre within our area, but there
are a few charities who may be able to help."

Other Groups Who are Breed or Injury Specific:

Corgi Aid

Dachshunds Needing IVDD surgery
http://members.rushmore.com/~dds/applyforhelp.htm

HandicappedPets.com
http://www.handicappedpets.com/Articles/help/
"From time to time, HandicappedPets.com recognizes a caretaker of
handicapped pets that need some special attention, and a little extra
help. There are those who are so selflessly dedicated to their animal
families that they give up a little more than they can afford."

Get that dog to a Vet fast. It may have Bloat and that is an EMERGENCY!!!!! The white Sibe in my pic died from bloat before we could get her to the ER clinic. Bloat is when the tummy fills with gas and twisits. The dog can't go to the bathroom or barf and they can't walk well.

Hi--I was reviewing the threads under "The helping Animals Group and someone mentioned a "Financial aide thread to assist with vet bills. I could not find it. Could someone please post or send me the link?
I am trying to find assistance for my boxer/pitbull Ms. Princess. She is eleven years old. She has a mass on her back and that has grown in the last week to the size of a golf ball and it is scaly. It is covered by fur. I cannot afford to have it removed and I am trying to find assistance to help our family get her the help that she needs. She is so sweet.
Thank you in advance,
