UPDATE RE: URGENT!!! SO MANY BEAUTIFUL DOGS DIE TODAY W/O YOUR HELP!!!

People I am so thrilled to tell you they were all rescued - way to GO!!!

Due to misinformation about a possible distemper outbreak TWO MONTHS AGO(totally false, shelter is CLEAN & all animals healthy!) that spread like wildfire earlier this week, Murray County Animal Control had many rescues back out of committed pulls - this means the animals will pay WITH THEIR LIVES!!! There is still time (but VERY LITTLE) to save them - so many beautiful dogs, big & small. Call/FAX/email right now or they will be euthed TODAY!http://www.murraycritters.com/available.html

DON'T GIVE UP, TRY ALL THESE CONTACTS AS THEY WILL (hopefully) BE VERY BUSY FIELDING LAST MINUTE CALLS & EMAILS!

Would you like to pull one or more of the dogs at Murray County Shelter but are thinking "how the heck am I gonna get that dog transported from GA?" We understand the shelter will hold the animals until transport on Saturday. We will try to help with transport. Easy to pull these dogs and get them transported!
If you can adopt or rescue, Lynn Gregory/Rhonda Parker rgparker@samford.edu
will work out transport. They just posted for more drivers needed on account of the urgent situation at Murray County. We have one transport leaving Saturday. If it fills, another will leave next weekend (in which case you can board the dog for $5 a day at Dianne's). Dianne runs a nice boarding facility - IF she has room - she gives rescues a rate of $5 per day, we will try to help with boarding any dogs you want until the following weekend, and transport then. Can't/don't want to pay the $5 per day? We can open up a donation site and try to get money secured.

So if you want to rescue a dog, DON't WAIT ANOTHER MINUTE! DO IT BY CALLING MURRAY COUNTY RIGHT NOW - THURSDAY 11/12. Try to get things firmed up as to adoption/rescues from the shelter as early in the afternoon (eastern time) as possible, since we do not know when the euth party begins.

Pick a dog (or more), call the shelter - 706-695-8003
and commit to it, let Rhonda know at rgparker@samford.edu, and we'll get transport worked out with Lynn Gregory.
PLEASE NOTE: This offer of help applies only to the dogs scheduled to be euthd on 11/12/09 per the below email.
