Opinion of horse slaughter,please.

I am part of the Animal Rescuers Club ( sites.google.com/site/animalrescuarsclub/ ) and wanted some opinions of horse slaughter.Research purposes.

Unfortunately it is necessary. I don't know if anyone is aware of what's happening in South Florida (USA) but dozens of horses are being snatched and slaughtered with their carcasses left for their owners to find. It's horrifying. As long as there is a demand there will be a supply. I'd rather people who sell to the kill traders know they are doing so and have to live with the choice. The best thing is to shame the consumers out of this "delicacy" to kill off demand. Once your raise someone's consciousness it's hard to go back to keeping their eyes wide shut.

I absolutely hate it! I understand animals being euthanized (sp) but, slaughter is TOTALLY different!!!! SLAUGHTER is when the animal is cut up, and then eaten! It is cruelty! I don't care what anyone says, it is cold blooded MURDER!!! (I just thought about something REALLY wrong, that the word laughter is in Slaughter!!!)

Horse slaughter is absolutly horrible and needs to stop now. I know many people use it for dog meat and factories use it too but there are other things dogs eat and people are freaks if they eat horse. Anyway it needs to stop

Horrific - cruel - and must be stopped. Like dogs and cats, people must be made to be responsible for the care of their horses. They so do not deserve to have such a cruel ending. They give a lifetime, they give their all to us !

by the way ....... yes the horror for most of us IS that they are killed and eaten as well as the cruelty involved in the transportation and slaughtering ! There is enough horror within the 'farm animal' industry ! We here in the UK fight very hard to end this slaughter, Slaughter horse petition handed to EU Commission http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/article.php?aid=290167 Like yours, our horses her fall victim because of irresponsible breeding and 'ownership' WE DON'T EAT HORSES HERE - and I am sure you don't consume them there - we are supporting and supplying a cruel and vile meat industry that we ourselves don't indulge in so why put our horse friends through this system ? What next - sending our surpless of dogs and cats over to China for food and fur ? It would be the same thing ! Photo of Sparky - rescued from kill market when he was only 8 months old. Unwanted - why ? Because he has one blue eye and one brown eye and cannot be shown because of that. How selfish, how cruel. Well the butcher was outbid and he is safe here with us for his lifetime, in his passport was a stamp, SUITABLE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION - and he is the LOVE of every child who meets him ! He was 6 years old in April.

I absolutely agree - took the words right out of my mouth :) but we do need to go on and on and on - yes we do, until deaf ears hear clearly, the voice of the people and do what is right for these animals :) !
