Beyond The Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR
My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!
IN LOVING MEMORY
Weep not for me though I am gone
Into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.

i was told today by my brother that my teenage buddy cat passed away. apparently he had been acting strange last night and wouldn't eat. my brother and dad got him to eat some special food earlier today and my dad was giving him treats and loving in him around 4:30 today. my mom got home an hour later and found him dead in the same spot.
i'll never forget the day i picked him out as a companion for my dad's new cat, and yoda's brother, tim. a solid black Siamese, he was simi-feral and when my dad picked him up all we could see was white claws and teeth.
i'm gonna miss our sunday cuddles together and i regret not being able to take you when i moved out, but i knew that you were an outside/inside cat and wouldn't take well to being locked up 24/7.
i'll miss you buddy

Comment by cindy thorgren on July 24, 2008 at 5:30pm - i lost my beloved rocky who was paer boxer rottweiler & pit in may 2005 i dont have a picture on here yet but she was only 7 & died from complications from liver disease she was my best friend & the most loyal protective dog anyone could ever ask for her time here was way too short but i know shes waiting for mommys turn to meet her on the other side!

This very beautiful for our pets. I had pets that had been killed(run over), run off, lost, had to be put to sleep(medical reason or old age), past away.
This is very touching for me. I thank you for starting it.
