Can you tell us if there are any furtelizer that are poisonous to dogs and if so which ones or how we can tell which ones are poisounous
Also if you can give us a list of plants that are poisonous that would be great.
Most fertilizers can cause an upset stomach and diarrhea in a dog but generally we don't seen very serious signs. Generally, once the fertilizer has been spread on the ground and the dog just walks through and likes their paws, they won't be a problem. The biggest concern may be for a fertilizers that contain insecticides or herbicides but usually only if the dog eats it right out of the bag.
For poisonous plants, if you go to www.aspca.org, click on Animal Poison Control, and then scroll down the page, you will see links for toxic and non-toxic plants.
I'm concerned... My 6 month old puppy ate straight out of the bag. He was experiencing diarrhea before he ate the miracle grow shake and feed. We've been monitoring his eliminations. Sometimes their solid and and sometimes it's diarrhea. He's had sudden urges to go. Is there something I can do to ease his pain or make the recover process more comfortable for him as far as far as reversing the poison somehow? I think he may have eaten a good amount because we noticed the actual pellets in his poo.
Thank you.. I just like to say I had a hand in his recovery.. ;o) I believe anyone who inquired, donated or just passed along inspirational comments are his hero's as well!
