GasX for bloat

Hello,
I've been told if you suspect bloat in your dog, it's a good idea to give GasX (simethicone?) on your way to the ER. Depending on the type (gel cap, liquid, or tablet), there are different ingredients listed (like sorbitol, xantham gum, etc.) How can I know if these other ingredients are safe for my dog? Thank you!

GasX is not likely to be helpful to a dog with bloat. GasX tends to break up little bubbles of gas while dogs with bloat generally have a large accumulation of gas in their stomach. With bloat, the most important thing is to get the dog to a veterinarian as quickly as possible.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your reply. My vet told me about the GasX. It's not meant to be a substitute for treatment, but might buy some time on the way to the ER. A friend's dog recently bloated and the vets gave the dog gas-x and reglan.
