I had my cat spayed yesterday. She is doing fine. But I noticed that the wound on her belly looks like the stitches are a little lose. And there is a very small amount of clear discharge from the wound. She is eating, drinking and using her litter box. Should I worry about the clear fluid?
I would take your cat back to the vet that spayed her right away. I would also get a cone to put on her right away that is made for cats. Your cat may be chewing on her insissions when you are not looking. This could lead to a major infections and more surgury. I would ask you vet if giving her ammoxicillin while she is healing from surgury. This may help her heal faster and prevent infection if she does not already have one. If you cant get her into the vet that fixed her today then take her to one that deals with emergencies. I would not wait untill tomarrow. Shayna Dickinson
Clear fluid is the body trying to break down the suture material, if any color or odor comming from incision is very bad, clear just may indicate she is being way to active, maybe u should isolate her for a day or two in a small kennel( create ) and also agree with shayna to get a cone for her head to stop licking, antibiotics only when pus is ozing from incision.

Thank you for clearing this up for the naysayers. It started with a post on my part to get donations for your organization and it turned into hideous mud slinging venture. The guerrilla tactics are disgusting by these few.
