I was adopted by a mature Akita/Chow Mix last July. She is very well trained, gets along with cats, other dogs, kids. etc. She doesn't bark, will not take food from kids, not even treats. The vet thinks she is about 6-8 yrs old. I know nothing of her background, other than the fact that she had heartworms when she came to us and has now been cured. But she doesn't play with toys. I've tried, balls, toys with treats in them, chew toys, every thing I can think of and she acts like she doesn't know what to do with them, or thinks she shouldn't touch them. Her greatest pleasure is going for walks, but I would love to find something to entertain her in between walks. Any suggestions appreciated.

I just want this site back. I just want this site to return to normal.. to return to discussions about animals. I want anyone who was banned from here to stay away and respect those of us that weren't banned. Why is this such a hard concept? And no…
