My parakeet Sweet, seems to be bothered by his left foot. He was standing on the top of my finger. I was petting him and then he flew back to his cage.I seen him land on the corner of the cage then I ran over to see what happened because he fell down on the top of the cage face first, and he never does that. When I got there he walking only on one foot.
Then I put him in a seperate cage away from the others, so just in case he got picked on. If he did he can't move out the way fast enough. I put a soft towel on the bottom of the cage just in case he fell and placed the perches, food and water lower to the bottom of the cage.
Then he started picking at his foot but up higher and couldn’t put it down. He keeps getting unbalanced and keeps holding his foot up. He won't put pressure on his foot. He’s is chirping to his family and eating and drinking fine he jumps to other perches but on one foot and looks healthy besides him not using his foot.
I think he broke it or just hurt it. Should I wait it out a few days to see if he'll use it or take him to a vet?
I don't want to take him to the vet if he will get better I need to know?
What do you think is wrong?
I’m not sure about this one.
Please answer fast. Thank you! Sheri
