Is it poisonous for a dog to eat a crayon? There are lots of kids around at the holidays and I watch children for a living and I am always worried when the kids drop the crayons on the floor and I read somehwere that crayons can actually kill a dog? Is this true? Thanks!

Elyse,

Crayons for children are non-toxic (since kids will eat these as well). Because they contain wax, crayons can cause diarrhea because wax can be a laxative but no serious signs are expected.
