Yes, turkey bones (as well as chicken bones) can splinter easily when chewed and can puncture the stomach or intestines -- so never give them to a dog. It is also not to give cow bones as well. In general, only give bones that are treated for dogs to chew on.

I would like to qualify your answer if I might. First all raw bones are okay turkey bones, chicken bones marrow bones raw. It is only when cooked do they splinter inthe dog's stomach. Raw hide is extremely bad for the dog as it has been treated with several chemicals. Also I would like to add do not leave the dog alone when he is chewing a bone as they may chew to fast and choke.

I would NEVER EVER feed Any bone to a dog. Thats why they make virtually indestructable kongs, and suggest filling with dog treats or peanut butter. FOR Safety. Skin is bad. Even animals in the wild who kill prey are smart enough not to eat the skin of the kill. Bobbie
