Starting A Rescue

I am a Junior in high school and I really love the animal cops service(like you see on T.V.) and I was curious how to get one of those started in my county? I'm really interested in getting one started, or at least attempting to get a program for animal rescue as a part of my Senior Project. Any information on how I would go to get a program started or suggested would be of great help,

Hi Nikquel, good for you for wanting to make a difference! Starting a humane law enforcement department or animal rescue department is a big undertaking. I would visit ASPCA.org and click on the section "fight animal cruelty" it's on the upper left hand side of the page. There are resources there to help you with your plans. Do contact your local animal control and animal welfare orgs as well, they may have a program, that you can help develop. Best of luck, and if you get it off the ground, let us know!
