Welcome to the Pet Memorial Group

For everyone who is grieving the loss of a beloved furry family member, please know that we are here for you. It helps to express yourself in whichever way works best for you, in order to move out of the intensity of the pain. It takes a lot of time, believe me, I know firsthand. It's been only two months since I lost the furry love of my life, Blackie. I think of him every day.

Please have comfort in knowing that your pet is with you in your heart and memories forever. Somehow this thought gives me peace deep down, and I hope it does for you too. If you would like to light a virtual candle in your pet's name, follow this link. It's very comforting. Just cut and paste into your browser address bar if the link isn't clickable:

I lost my Butterscotch a few years ago. He was my best friend, ever. I had had him for 17 years. I think about him every day and am shedding tears as I write this. I miss him so much.

How do I start? I want to cry every day when I think how I lost my sweethearts within months of each other. Jackie 11 years old on March 3rd and then Bubba 15 years old on April 29th. Even though I have three other dogs my heart still feels empty and the house has become so big.

Linda,
Don't be so hard on yourself over the loss of your sweet cat. You did the best you could and took him to the vet, got his opinion, and did what was necessary for the best interest of your pet. Be proud of yourself for caring enough to do these things, being sensitive to your cat's needs and being a good mom to your cat. Be kind to yourself now, losing a pet is hard on us all, and that is why it helps to talk to others. Use the phone counselors I have posted on the home page of this group if you want to talk to someone "live" over typing on here. Whatever is better for your needs, just remember that you didn't ask for your pet to be sick or die, and that you did your job, which was to be the caring and loving pet parent.

In memory of my beautiful little girl Chance. I miss your sweet face, your tiny nub tail going 90 miles an hour when you see me, the soulful look in your eyes, your unconditional love, the way you always managed to get whatever you were eating all over your nose, the way you sang along with the squeaky toy, what a good dog you were, the way you couldn't sleep without your blanket and so many more beautiful memories... I cry every day over you and will never stop loving you. I hope somehow you still hear us when we say how much we love you.
