I received this poem after the passing of my dear Jamie. we had to put her down a year ago. It is a beautiful poem, hope it helps.

From RainbowsBridge.com

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

My dear little Chuupa I cant wait to be with you and Joan at Rainbow bridge. There has not been a day where a tear or two would sneak out at work, driving or even at bedtime. Our little snuggle spot is empty my heart is aching to be with you. I cry myself to sleep knowing you are with her but then I am left here to tend to the needs of Princess and Halloween. Soon my dear child we will be together again I am looking forward to the day when I come to Rainbow bridge and see you and Joan running to greet me and be a happy family once again. Until then my child I know you are in wonderful hands. My only wish for now is honey be happy and Purr for Joan and tell her how much she is loved also. Sent with love and tears.

On Augs 5, 2009 My fiance emailed me this poem. I cried of corse. Then on that same Friday August 7, I read it again to GORDO, CHIQUITA, and COSITA. They did not understand of course they are after all cats.... But for one brief moment, I felt a little peace. I had to leave on a small vacation to Missouri for a wedding... It was a long week. Once I returned, Once there was just myself and the little box, I sat by my bed, held the box and read this poem.... I inserted the key to the lock, and noticed what I was holding was the cremains of my once adored BABY. The one who would be by mi side threw thick and thin. The one who would come when I would click my touge, or call out her name "BABY COME!" See on August 5th, 2009 BABY was found dead by the side walk, apparently ranned over by a car. I had to go to work so it all was a big blurry rush.... I still cry. I still think she will come back to me. That her two remaining legacys will be playing with her, and COSITA will no longer search for her at night.... I know she loved me. I know that one day we will meet again. I just dont know when the draw bridge will come down for me.

Love you little mama!

My heart vries out for you too on the loss of your 'child'. I know I am grieving the loss of my Chuppa still and my Holloween is trying to wipe a tear or two from my face as I type this. She sense my hurt and I sense her hurt for the loss of her playmate. I too am waiting for the day when I can walk up the wonderful bridge and come to where Rainbow bridge is where I will be with My late wife and Chuppa. But until then I have to tend to my other two 'children' in the house.
