Welcome to the Pet Memorial Group

For everyone who is grieving the loss of a beloved furry family member, please know that we are here for you. It helps to express yourself in whichever way works best for you, in order to move out of the intensity of the pain. It takes a lot of time, believe me, I know firsthand. It's been only two months since I lost the furry love of my life, Blackie. I think of him every day.

Please have comfort in knowing that your pet is with you in your heart and memories forever. Somehow this thought gives me peace deep down, and I hope it does for you too. If you would like to light a virtual candle in your pet's name, follow this link. It's very comforting. Just cut and paste into your browser address bar if the link isn't clickable:

Please post memorials for your pets at the bottom of the page, we want to see them! This is your group and we want to hear from you :) Read below for important grief hotline information. Carolyn

Here's some positive music to comfort and soothe during the loss of a dear pet. I tried to give a variety of genres for everyone to enjoy (country, popular, traditional, etc). Listen if you like, and only if it helps you.

Just a Dog "From time to time, people tell me, lighten up 'it's just a dog', or ‘that's a lot of money to spend on just a dog’. They don't understand. Some of my proudest moments were with 'just a dog'. For many hours, my only company was 'just a dog'. Some of my saddest moments were with 'just a dog', who gave me comfort. 'Just a dog' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and joy. 'Just a dog' brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. I rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. 'Just a dog' brings out what's good in me. I hope someday you will understand that it's not 'just a dog', but the very thing that keeps me from being 'just a human’.” ~Unknown

When I went thru a divorce my exhusband wouldnt take care of my 6 cats for a few weeks till I came back to get them and they had to be put down. They were my babies. I miss them very much and it still breaks my heart today and it was 2 years ago. I have 7 new cats now along with other animals if you have seen my page you know. But they cant replace my 6 babies I lost.

I've had a few dogs in my life time.
All were family owned pets.
When they passed it was due to normal ageing conditions. It was sad none the less, but I think because they were brought up and shared by the whole family it made losing them a bit easier.
When my Rottie (KUMA) died from someone poisoning her it was real hard (still is).
She died in 2005 at the young age of six.
I raised and trained her by myself in my own home. It was primarily just her and I.
I didn't think writing this would be as hard as it has been.
Thanks for providing a place for me to post.

I have lost many furry friends in my life. Most recently I watched my sister-in-law's kitty lose her battle to feline leukemia. Hope was truly a fighter. She is frolicking in kitty heaven with my baby, Marla, among many others.

It's very hard for me to lse a pet
But I just have to remember that their in a better place and I couldn't ask for a more better place for them to live in
And I know that they are going to look after me just like they would if they were still alive and they love the same and I will love them the same also.

I have lost several pets over the years, and each one hurt in a different way, I can not say I know how you feel but I am very sorry for your loss, my cat died this morning and he was the sweetest thing, he would let my six month old hold him and "pet" him and he never got annoyed with her, I think he was poisoned, I have people telling me to drop it, but I refuse to, what do you guys think?
