Welcome to the Pet Memorial Group

For everyone who is grieving the loss of a beloved furry family member, please know that we are here for you. It helps to express yourself in whichever way works best for you, in order to move out of the intensity of the pain. It takes a lot of time, believe me, I know firsthand. It's been only two months since I lost the furry love of my life, Blackie. I think of him every day.

Please have comfort in knowing that your pet is with you in your heart and memories forever. Somehow this thought gives me peace deep down, and I hope it does for you too. If you would like to light a virtual candle in your pet's name, follow this link. It's very comforting. Just cut and paste into your browser address bar if the link isn't clickable:

Here's some positive music to comfort and soothe during the loss of a dear pet. I tried to give a variety of genres for everyone to enjoy (country, popular, traditional, etc). Listen if you like, and only if it helps you.

Just a Dog "From time to time, people tell me, lighten up 'it's just a dog', or ‘that's a lot of money to spend on just a dog’. They don't understand. Some of my proudest moments were with 'just a dog'. For many hours, my only company was 'just a dog'. Some of my saddest moments were with 'just a dog', who gave me comfort. 'Just a dog' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and joy. 'Just a dog' brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. I rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. 'Just a dog' brings out what's good in me. I hope someday you will understand that it's not 'just a dog', but the very thing that keeps me from being 'just a human’.” ~Unknown

I feel so lost and empty tonight and can not stop crying. Lacey was missed very much this Thanksgiving. I am feeling selfish tonight because I do not want her in Heaven, I want her with ME! I am already dreading Christmas because there will be such a void without her. Every Christmas, as I took the ornaments out of the boxes to put on the tree, Lacey would always walk all over them. I would fuss at her, but now I would LOVE to have her back to walk all over those ornaments again :) Christmas will be sad this year for a lot of people that have lost their "babies" this year.

I love you Lacey and please come visit me in my dreams...

Sabrina, i am so sorry for your loss. Find comfort in knowing Jasmine greeted Bruiser at The Rainbow Bridge and is showing him around.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jack,
Reading your letter to your beloved Chuppa has touched my heart. I feel your pain so deeply. I do believe that our kitties are waiting for us on the other side and will great us with hugs and purrs when we re-unite with them.

It has been 4 months since my boy Tristan crossed to the other side to wait for me. He crossed over so suddenly and without warning. We were right in the middle of our great love affair, like Tristan and Isolde! I am still reeling from shock -- that has not abated over the past months at all -- and the pain is so deep that when I cry it sounds more like some type of gutteral wailing; I've never heard my own voice sound like that before. I miss my soul-mate so incredibly much.

It can tell from your letter that you had a very close bond with your boy Chuppa as well.....I am so sorry for your loss, which was heaven's gain. You will see him again.

I recently adopted another silver-shaded persian in Tristan's honor. She was at the same shelter Tristan was from, exactly ten years later, which is a huge coincidence b/c the breed is relatively rare at shelters. They were going to euthanize her within a couple of days because she wouldn't take the force-feeding. They let me have her for free. I am now nursing her through her cold and she is eating on her own. I know I will love her a lot...she is a tender sweetie... and I love my 2 other kitties as well. But I honestly do not believe that I will ever experience the magical soul-bond I had with Tristan.

Still, I am very pleased to have saved this little girl's life as a tribute to Tristan --he would approve. I may re-name her so that a part of Tristan's name is incorporated...perhaps "Misty," which is combination of my first initial and Tristan's nickname, or possibly Isolde (Izzy) from the legend of Tristan and Isolde.
I think Christmas will be very hard this year. Tristan used to love watching us decorate and he often sat under the tree. He was so integrated into the household; he loved life. ....My mother also passsed away unexpectedly this year so we will be going out of town for a few days over Christmas. I don't know if that wil help or make it worse.

I wish you peace at this difficult time.

-Michelle

My first thansgiving without my little man by my side. Chuppa honey I know you are up there and I am down here with the other two 'children' . It seems so strange still and it has only been 3 months. I still cry for you and I still walk the floors looking for you. I miss the couch cuddle session we had together with you purring while on my chest and ever so gently thumping your tail on my side. I miss the evening cuddle times we had together in the bed just ever being so tender and nice. I miss the belly rubs I used to give you every so often, Just to her you purr your thanks and then jumping up into bed and cuddling with me for a night of sleep. Now I toss and turn with out you by my side.

It certainly does. I find it very hard especially volunteering at a sanctuary, it is so upsetting when we loose them, especially if they are only young and not even had a life.

Same from me guys, thinking of you and your beloved pet familiesxxxxx
